And there we go again - what is so hard to understand that is not acceptable for us to outperform every spec of every class. There is always gonna be at least one above us (or at least there should be) - that's the advantage they get by being able to switch to a completely different toolset - they are more flexible to the different situations, we only get to play with talents which can only go so far. If you can't understand that maybe a single dps spec class isn't for you.

Your argument is ridiculous. If it were all about "flexibility", you wouldn't see Demo being the top DPS spec for every fight for Warlocks. You wouldn't see Arms being the best DPS spec for Warriors in every fight. Balance is top DPS for Druids in 5/7 fights, with the other 2 being so close it's practically irrelevant. I don't think I really need to go on. It must be because those classes "switched toolsets" as you say, right? The evidence contradicts your claim.

There are classes with single dps specs who are above WW. There are classes who have multiple specs above WW. The numbers get even worse when you take out the outlier of twins. Do yourself a favor and actually browse those boss fights in the link you posted. It's not currently working the way you claim.

What is so hard to understand about large disparities between the top class and bottom class in damage output, being a bad thing. If you can't understand the need for proper balance across the board, then any discussion would be meaningless.

That being said, it does make sense for "Pure DPS" classes with more than one DPS spec to have a spec that performs better than a single DPS spec class like monks on different fights. However, currently almost none of them have a 2nd spec that does better on X fight, they are still only using a single spec for all (most) of the fights. The 90th percentile ranks that were linked even have Hunter's and Warrior's 2nd spec higher than us. And if you take out the outlier of Twins, a fight thats specifically tailored for WW toolset, then WW falls quite a bit further.

It makes total sense for Locks to out DPS us as Demo on X fight thats strong for that toolset, and Y fight as Affliction thats strong for that toolset. Right now thats not the case. Most of you are arguing points that aren't in opposition to each other currently.

If that was the case the situation would be the same - the argument would just become "Demo is better than us on this fight and they can just switch to Affliction and be better on that fight so overall Lock>Monk". How exactly would you describe a situation in which everyone is happy? Because if someone can do that they should apply straight at Blizzard.
6.1 is close and set bonuses are coming so soon we'll see what is the tier balance and how it should be fixed.

You're correct, IF classes like locks were able to able to switch specs to do better on different fights that makes sense. It's what you've been arguing for several posts and I agree with you. HOWEVER, currently Locks will always do more damage as Demo, Warriors as Fury, etc.

As I said, in the link to the rankings you provided, Warriors had both DPS specs above WW, and hunters had 2 of 3, which means they can chose what they want and even if it's not optimal, it's better than WW. While I agree that multi-dps specs having a better spec for different fights is great design, that's now how it's working currently.
