Would you stay subbed without LFR?

Now this is a question that I'm really interested in hearing feedback on.

Be aware that this is NOT intended to be a discussion about whether or not LFR is "real raiding", or whether you like it or not, etc..

I'm simply very curious (based on what has been discussed in many other threads over the years now), how big of a role LFR plays for people, and how they would see the game without it (especially now with Flex Mode being standard for the lower difficulties, as well as the Group Finder).

Please only reply to the poll if you are actually currently subbed.

I'm aware this won't be a statistically relevant sample, but I'm interested nontheless.

Probably not. LFR was the only reason I came back at the end of Cata, and it's the only reason I ever stayed subbed for a year and a half straight after that (Instead of playing a little, quitting for a long time, rinse and repeat, in the past.)

As is, I'm probably going to quit anyways. I think I'm just burnt out on the entire genre.

Yes, but I do care about LFR because its a nice way to gear alts better for normals.

My WOW days of hardcore raiding are long gone, now all I do is farm mounts, pets and do LFR to check out the new raids and get some pieces of gear/finish legendary quest. If LFR went away I guess it wouldn't bother me that much if I could still do the other things and if they returned to the old Valor capping days. I mean, farming mounts and pets is kind of fun and keeps you busy for a while but once you get most of them you don't have anything else to do. Without LFR I would need something else to keep me busy, so farming instances for valor would do it.

Yeah I recently unsubbed myself. Been playing about 3 months before Wrath launched. Nothing to do with LFR, mostly because I'm not happy with where the game went in terms of playability and stuff.

I don't raid anymore, but if I did, I would be doing Normal.

LFR was a mistake to add to begin with.

That depends. If they killed LFR but put in legit dungeon/small group content then I'd resub.

Initial expansion rushes aside, raiding's the only thing I do in the game. With regular raiding 9 hours/week that justifies the monthly sub, but if I only had LFR to do, nope, doesn't justify the sub for that 1-2 hours per week. So when I'm not raiding normal/heroic/mythic, I'm unsubbed.

TL;DR: LFR has no influence on whether I'm subbed or not.

ill be returning to WoW here in about a month or so once I finish my RL stuff.

So with that said No I would not return to WoW if LFR was removed. I personally enjoy doing LFR and believe it or not I gem and enchant while doing it. Not everyone who dose LFR afk's it and trolls it.

LFR is one of the best things that happen to WoW and I love doing it. Garrsions and LFR is fun to me and thats on top of soloing old content.

Everynow and then I dip into a harder setting but LFR is what I do most. I enjoy doing it and just being able to sit back and relax.

I would have nothing to do on my alts, and my main rarely goes into normal+ raids, I only did 1 Hm run this patch(in a guild group consisting of mythic progress raiders), which was also my first normal raid since ICC.

Doing LFR 11 times per week keeps me busy enough, ontop of plenty of time for other vidya and internet related crap. But without LFR, and only getting gear from missions? That would get boring fast.
I also outgrew PvP in Cata(BM hunter was ridiculously fun back then), so that would also not be an option.

    no.
LFR has saved me the hassle of orginising, and running pug runs on my alts so I can gear them up.

There needs to be a "I don't really do LFR, but I want it to stay" option.

This is how i feel about LFR. i enjoy alts, and as such, Blizzard is steadily making it harder and harder to play alts.

they want you to have things to do on your main, not realizing that those things are adding larger and larger gaps for Alts to have to over come in order to easily swap out with your main.

hard core players dont really have this issue. however im not very interested in Mythic raiding. i enjoy heroic, and was very fond of Wrath's setup where raids were simple enough that a couple of geared players could help carry alts (or new raiders) to some easy gear. once hitting a certain mark you could switch your main with your alt to fill a new role without slowing down or hindering your group.

without LFR my alts suffer and have to be treated as mains to get anything out of. so if things keep going the way they are, i wont have 1 main and 10 alts, ill just have 5 mains, and a frozen account.

At this point, yes. Had you asked me that question in MoP, I'd have had a different answer however.

Only do lfr on new alts so I wouldn't even care.

  17. #17
What the hell kind of question is this lol?
    I only do progression raiding.
LFR is trivial, and should be for everyone.
Normal is accessible no matter your availability or skill.
No reason to sub or unsub because of LFR unless you are confused about what there is to do in end game PVE.

Yes, I have a 3 day a week Heroic/Mythic guild. LFR can stay or be gone don't particulary care. I'd say its alright to hop in on an alt or something, thats the only use I see for it nowdays. Speaking strictly for myself above ofcourse, some people won't hop to normal for whatever reason, so I guess It would affect them.

Ah, but that's not the question.
The question is simply whether you, you personally, would stay subbed without it. Or rather, how important it is to you in the game by extension.
