Need some tips on Brackenspore Flamethrower

    Armory: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/characte...pincaps/simple

    Logs: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports...s=1720&wipes=1

I've been doing the 270 degree turn thing and I think I'm getting a pretty good stack count. On the couple attempts where we got further into the fight I was maintaining 20+ stacks. But even so I feel like my damage is completely shit in comparison to some of the hunters that have ranked on the fight. Obviously I don't expect ranking level dps when we're progressing on the fight, but there's obviously room for improvement.

This is me doing it with my guild - I didn't do the best job but since I now easily get to 30stacks
This way works best for me.

Your damage is not as bad as you think.

First of all you are attacking spore shooters more then an average number hungry flame throwing hunter. I picked at random a hunter with a similar iLvL. Look at the damage break down. He only did 1.66 mil to spore shooters on a kill attempt. In an 8 minute pull you have 5.3 mil. If your raid isn't killing shooters fast enough you are definatly on the right target and as there is no reliable cleave other then barrage, this usually results in a decrease in dps. Staying on the Fungal and Boss will typically lead to more dps cause it's more consistant cleave.

Where you could improve the most is abusing kill shot when your stacks are high. Take a look at the top parses.

The other difference you might notice is in the stack history of burning infusion. Compare this log to your guilds.

You sadly enjoy more competition for the moss then similarly geared parses. In this particular instance his other throwers don't start taking stacks till later in the fight.

Other then that min max your movement for clearing moss as well as toggling your thrower smartly. Abuse your cleave and kill shots when your stacks are highest. If the boss is in range of moss do a big clear elsewhere and stand next to that moss to periodically refresh your stacks till you are required to stack for infesting.

Lastly don't switch off the spore shooters just to cleave to get prettier numbers if that is where your damage is needed. If your group is getting tank deaths, you'll most likely need to spend more time on the fungal. Remember you are not playing warcraftlogs, your playing world of warcraft.

Your post is super helpful. I really appreciate it. I think I may need to try and clear more often in order to keep my stacks higher for longer. Our guild has been struggling with getting the spore shooters down quickly so I have been doing that a bit more than I should have to I suppose.

We go back in on Sunday, so I'll definitely try to implement some of your tips for sure.

Nice vid. I think I'll have a bit more trouble keep my stacks up since I have to pretty much be on Spore Shooters full time, but seeing you go out to clear moss that often was definitely useful. Thanks.

I hate to ninja this thread but may I ask if Angry Assignments is the addon you are using for Cooldowns order?

    Yes we used Angry Assignments

Also Pop, like solar said - just abuse that kill shot! And no problem!
