Is being pissed off at someone reason enough to hurt their pets?

My roommate has been feuding with me for some time and they can't afford to get their own place so they're kind of stuck.
A few weeks ago I noticed my cat was itching like crazy. It wasn't fleas and I couldn't figure out the cause.
Turns out my roommate propped open a panel in their closet and lined it with nails and shards of broken glass.
My cat managed to avoid that and decided to tear up the insulation and make a nest.

tldr: would you try to hurt someone's pet to get back at them, or has someone done it to you and how did you react?

What the fuck? This must be a troll, but in case it's not.. No, don't hurt his pets you asshole, hurt him if you want to hurt him. And if he really did set a spikes and glass trap for your cat, you ought to hurt him.

never, roommate should be summarily executed.

maybe a little extreme.... but not by much

    ......no.
    No man. Hell no.
I believe you get your ass kicked, you do something like that.

Seriously, though. NO. Why would someone even do that? What the hell did the animal do to you when you're pissed at the owner?

Summary executions are barbaric, in this country we always give somebody a trial before we hang them.

Before the camps, I regarded the existence of nationality as something that shouldn’t be noticed - nationality did not really exist, only humanity. Seriously a dumb question, if this is true call whatever ASPCA organization you may have in your area and report him.

So did your cat get hurt by all the nails and the broken glass?

Not a chance. Id be kicking me someones butt if they were attempting to harm my cat. Kick that idiot out. They (potentially) caused damage in the closet then put down nails and glass in an attempt to hurt the cat and or you? Even if you're trying to be nice, that guy or girl needs to be kicked out. If they are willing to set a trap for your cat, who knows how long until they move to hurting the cat themselves.

Not that the op said. The op said the cat avoided the nails and glass.

Absolutely not - there's zero justification for something like that. Also, your roommate is insane, and you and your pet need to get safely away from them.

Unless you need this roommate for anything more than rent/bills I'd report him to authorities and find a new roommate.

I'm not sure which is more depressing:

That you had to start a thread to ask something as stupid as this.

    -or-

That something as stupid as this is actually occurring.

    no no no.

    no.

don't do the whole mean girl revenge thing because then you'll be scared to leave the apartment knowing that something will be broken/missing/messed with when you get back. Find the route of the problem and do a behavior switch and mend the wounds you two have.

Nothing worse than living in the same house with someone you have a grudge with, trust me. I've used to much psychology to avoid drama in my 5yrs with roommates its crazy how much shit I avoided by doing so. Living that way can cause stress and ruin your daily life.
