Are the comments on that page real? I've come across fake comments in some advertisements before, wouldn't be suprised to see such things on a page like this.

I wish petition sites had a disagree or countersign function. A bunch of anonymous "signature" comments is the epitome of an echo chamber.

It's funny how the anti-net neutrality proponents keep trying to use the spin words of "keep the internet free and open".

There is nothing free and open about making laws that tell businesses they can't compete with comcast.

There is nothing free and open about telling businesses that they have to pay a fee in order to reach their customers, and then turning around and telling their customers they need to pay a fee in order to shop at that certain store in the same breath.

Doesn't work as well in German and some other languages where hydrogenium is more obviously named after the water it forms.
'Hydroxylsäure' (hydroxyl-acid = water) might work though.

Basically it's a bunch of misinformed (or rather choose to ignore) ignorant idiots that have no clue what Net Neutrality stands for and just spew hate because 'another Obummer campaign bla bla socialism bla bla freedomz'.

I lost it on the 'fighting for our freedoms for thousands of years' comment. These are the people allowed to vote on decisions that drive our country -.-.

The "law" basically ensures that NOBODY controls the internet, and that it's equal access for all.

Lobbying against the law is saying that you want corporations to control the internet and how you can experience it.

Also, why do people bring up page numbers of bills like long bills are a bad thing? If it has pork attached to it just point out what that pork is, otherwise length is pretty necessary these days to ensure a lack of loopholes. If it has no pork, the length is irrelevant.
2014 Gamergate: "If you want games without hyper sexualized female characters and representation, then learn to code!"
2023: "What's with all these massively successful games with ugly (realistic) women? How could this have happened?!"

Could we please take those commenters and move them down to Texas (and anyone with similar "minds"). Then we can split Texas off from the United States and watch as Mexico takes it over. Our GDP would go way up as those with actual educations become the norm.

Personally, I do want corporations that can afford to pay more to have better access to bandwidth. As they should. I'm fine with paying a little extra to make sure that happens. I would like to think that Blizzard should have increased bandwidth if they choose to pay for it. Speeding up sites that need more speed and slowing down sites that get little traffic is actually a good thing.
"The round, metal cooking utensil referring to the larger, cookware customarily used for, but not limited to, stews, as being of a dark shade or possibly of African descent." ~~ Fixed for now. But keep in mind any one of the words used in that fix may become politically incorrect or offensive at any moment for any reason. Further amendments may be required to prevent frivolous lawsuits in the future.

Unless of course you believe in capitalist ideas like "competition". But I mean what sort of right-winger would you be if you believed in actual capitalism instead of the twisted right-wing corporatist cronyism?

Im a strong proponent for net neutrality as well but Obama is going about it the wrong way. He has a 300+ page plan when all it would take a bill that is a few words long. Something along the lines of "All Internet Service Providers must treat every bit of data the same. No throttling based on website visited or service accessed, and no peering arrangements allowed."

Bills have to be that long to cover every possible outcome. They have to be written in lawyer-eese because companies will cut it like cheese with their own lawyers if its not.

Not true. They didnt have speech writers when Washington, Adams, and Jefferson were president. Why even be president if youre going to have someone else do every aspect of your job other than sign things. I firmly believe you should write your own speeches if youre going to be president. Its one of my biggest beefs with ALL modern presidents. Same thing with comedians and late night talk show hosts. You arent funny if you arent writing your own jokes. The people writing the jokes are the funny one. Anyone can read a joke on TV

Net Neutrality isnt about providing free internet or high speed access to rural areas. Its about keeping the packet flow the same no matter what website or service you are viewing (IE not slowing down Netflix access because Comcast wants you to use their own streaming service that they charge for) and not censoring the internet.

The crux of the GOP is manipulation of the stupid.

Net neutrality doesn't mean "free" as in costs nothing.

It means Comcast can't tell Netflix they have to pay extra or get their data throttled (which would ruin their business), or tell its customers they have to pay more if they want unthrottled Netflix.

You can't compare being a president in the us 150+ years ago to being president of it today.
No, but every single thing you say is important and the way you formulate yourself can mean win or lose. A presidnet shouldn't be president because he or she writes good speeches either.
