Red face Have you ever cried because you were so happy?

Were you ever in tears not because you were sad or going through a breakup/death etc., but because you were so happy? Or if you ever made someone happy cry?
For example when Ving Rhames won a Golden Globe back in 1998, I could understand why it was such a shock for him and you see him sob uncontrollably. Not only that, he hands over his award to Jack Lemmon which made me teary a little I have to admit.

Another one that made me teary yet for a positive reason was when Steve harvey was surprised on his birthday by his 'foster' parents he hasnt seen in decades.

As for me, I've never cried because I was so happy; however, I found a lost chihuahua that I almost ran over while driving home from work one night and lured it with some chicken curry. I took it home to let it stay with my dog for a few days. I post signs around my city but after a week with no luck, I had no choice but to give it to the humane society. About a few days later, I get a call from a woman looking for her dog. Turns out its the dog I found and right after, she literally could not stop crying over the phone while I was quickly trying to explain the current situation as she had to go the humane society to pick up her dog now. But either way I was so glad for her.

Anyways the point of this is for a story I'm writing for an assignment. I would love to hear your stories if you ever had an experience as I described. Thanks.

Not cried my eyes out, but shed tears, yeah.. I think that's a pretty normal response if something is very emotionally moving.

When Obama walked down that long platform to give his speech on election night in 2008.

I was actually a Hillary supporter and was not happy at all when he won the primary, but then when it got to the election... that was a pretty amazing feeling.

History books hundreds and maybe thousands of years from now will be talking about that moment.

    That got me.

Maybe even more so due to the fact that I wasn't a supporter, because it made me remember just how many people hated it so extremely... and it didn't matter. He was president whether they liked it or not, because that's what America chose. Awesome.

I was in a band with a friend who is essentially a mom to me (I never knew my real mom) and at one practice she randomly started singing Time After Time to me...

Yes. When I finally got the job that allowed me to leave a career I hated and move to be with my fiancee, when I went for a run that night, my emotions just broke and I cried for a couple miles. I've never been happier.

Yep, April 7th 2010 after my last radiotherapy treatment, May last year when my radiologist "dismissed" me from their care & I'm gonna go ahead & predict July 21st when I have my last appointment with my consultant which is the point where they'll finally tell me I'm "all clear" - not that I'm looking forward to that but I've been waiting 5 years to hear that.

One time the family dog got into the pantry and ripped open a bag of potatoes. There were potatoes everywhere and he was just laying on the couch looking all guilty. It was so funny I cried. But in retrospect maybe I was happy that the evil potatoes had been vanquished.

    I certainly have, yes.

Makes me laugh the people saying it's always "faked" Just because you haven't experienced it doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

I have not. The only time I tear up is when I'm exhausted and I yawn a lot.
