Duncan hardly knows anything about the marketing. As far as I'm concerned it's either because 1.) Exclusivity for PAX audience 2.) Exclusive marketing to promote the movie 3.) The trailer is not finished yet 4.) They are waiting for a specific moment, because reasons, to release it for the general public.

I enjoyed her reaction. I actually thought "See how it's done, Avatar guy?".

Also, great trailer. Kinda hope it gets released in higher quality to build hype, but also kinda hope it doesn't to keep that "event exclusiveness."

Now that I think about it, marketing isn't such a fuck up after all. Apart from the awful posters (orc aggro inc), they have made a pretty good job in letting people know that Warcraft movie is a thing

Also, they have made Warcraft look like a fun popcorn flick. These two factors might be enough to get people watch it. I mean, Transformers (2007) wasn't exactly a mastahpiece but it made loads of money. Even with mediocre reviews.
On top of that they have kept the plot tightly under wraps unlike some (BvS) movies.
Of course Warcraft has the burden of prejudice from both, being a video game movie and Warcraft-movie but still.-
