clearly he was being belligerent and was resisting the police. They decided to taze him to calm him down, and he decided to cooperate right when they were doing it. I would think it's, "You give up and they take you into custody" not "You give up and they get a few payback hits in".

The tazer was clearly being fired AS the mans hands went up. You can't take it back once its in the air :P

Looks like he was resisting so I really don't see the issue. If you have a dispute you take it up in court with the judge. At least they didn't shoot him and he can plead his case to a judge.

He was resisting arrest, that's about all the cops needed to act. The last one second of his actions, and remember how fast one second is, are irrelevant. The police were already walking down a correct set of actions based on the elderly mans movement and behavior.

Literally the second the cop opens the door, the old guy has his hands in the air. Doesn't matter what he did the seconds/minute before that. They had zero good reason to taze him.

When someone resists arrest, i.e. running away or wrestling with cops (bad word, wrestling, can't think of a better), if a perp decides, all of a sudden to stop resisting, the are still considered resisting arrest under the eyes of the law. And police must treat the perp like he's resisting arrest, insofar as securing him/her.
