Tracking length of time in combat with WeakAuras

Hello, just hoping someone can help. I want a weak aura that displays how long I have been in combat, and displays that as a timer. Possible?

Building on that, is it possible to show/hide an icon or some text based on length of time in combat?

    Thanks in advance!

    Yes its possible.

Scratch that. i cant even get WA to load. Nothing short of deleting my Weakaura.lua fixes it... i leave you with this until i can fix it

I know not everybody has ElvUI but it's common enough I should mention it (and google searches later)... ElvUI has a built in datatext for combat time.

    okay.. try this one:

the creator of that string is on this forum as well, maybe he'll see this. Import the string and look at the display options, all the important parts are in there. if you have any questions fire away.
As it is now it's custom-made for a specific strategy, think it was made after this video: http://www.twitch.tv/jelloslockexo/b/627092906?t=14m35s

I've seen him on here as well sometimes

for the combattime in WA you use GetTime() and calculate from there.

    Hi oneyoner

dawawe pretty much got this covered already, but there is no need to do event based triggers or anything fancy. Just using an "always active" trigger and "in combat" load option will do the trick.

Here is a sample I have lying around for this purpose:
    Code:
    dytKdaGEKG2fi2MOy2e5xibUnP2jsQ9kTBkTFuJcP0Fvu)wKhdQblmCc4WiofsvhtuDorjTqvWWiOfRkz5kSic0tPAzG0ZvPZRQ0ujzYe10HonWLv6zkIRtXgrIADIsSzvX2juFej0SqsmnvP(ossFMq(MQkJwvvJxuQlHuClvfxtf6EivwPk6HirgNI0nVQ666Y1LRQ(tYIoGc3sn031LbxbKiFvB2yDAGRdBUysR2SX6pglmcswAPNp5Gdo4a8WbXmiZRvmehjdub0lh4)1YNCWbhCWbhCWHucMiXbCs)IGkGE5GooO4IkGEPLEo(WbXmiZRvmehjdub0lFYbhCWbhCWbhJfndlhxCaSIG8KgAcsRG0ieQCwOriuzbPchWj9lcQa6LcYiKkCaN0ViOcOxAYiKE(Kdo4GJv6U8jhCWbhCWbhCmw0mSCiy(KSm5NG8jhCWbhRvMpxRmFYN8jFwhyb4mCslG0IRCPoVobgbj7TQ6xKmWQQlNMHnxmP7H6WMlM01jMbzETIH4izGkGE5GooO4IkGEPL(I1bwawvD50mS5IjDpuh2CXKUoXmiZRvmehjdub0lh0XHfivS(dWcU)RQUCAg2CXKUhQdBUysxNygK51kgIJKbQa6Ld64WcKkwSooaIeTJQQJFfyRFrcAU1n3DMirvY3lomBpuFfVwSoLswzacs2BDZDNnwa2d1n2v8AX6edMkwFSIajR6RaBDCZgRtvGm(Vu(OWPcZ60F55tMC83KCO95Z7m1TgTAaejAh3sDEDGCDkL0ViihkGER)FbI(JLYz(97DgOhNMbA(XmqNoTpFEpTUuIixvDzWZda2iHFRQU2iHGQkwS(GaVvvxBKqqvflwFKK2QQRnsiOQIfRJeP1IvvxBKqqvflw3C3z4K(fb7HIfRFRdfsoeHqe(zYhrKNN8J5K6Il15VHMxSf
This uses the on show custom code to set the time when you enter combat and in the display custom text calculate the time, just like dawawe did.
Using the new aura_env will make sure to avoid name conflicts.

Apparently I can't post code, because the post will need mod approval then...
And since I'm not sure if I can post links either, here is the pastebin id: 5mhfY7cN
dawawe pretty much got it covered, but there is no need to do event triggers, a simple always active and load in combat trigger will do.
Using the new aura_env and local variables to not get any naming problems.

Hello, so I found this thread while looking for a combat timer, and yours works great! I was wondering if you could help me think of a way to be able to check the combat time after the fight though. When I am raiding I often find myself wanting to know how long the last attempt was, if you know how to make a weak aura keep a list of the last 5 end times or a different addon that could check that? thanks would be so helpful
