    EU reverses commitment to scrap data roaming charges and weakens net neutrality

    European regulators have dropped plans to ban roaming charges and have proposed net neutrality rules allowing privileged access in some cases.

    It is not scraped. They pushed it forward and with some modifications 1 year, which is bad enough as it is but not scrapped.
    For example roaming is free up to a certain threshold then providers are allowed to charge.
    But soon after Mr Xi secured a third term, Apple released a new version of the feature in China, limiting its scope. Now Chinese users of iPhones and other Apple devices are restricted to a 10-minute window when receiving files from people who are not listed as a contact. After 10 minutes, users can only receive files from contacts.
    Apple did not explain why the update was first introduced in China, but over the years, the tech giant has been criticised for appeasing Beijing.

    Except this is how many proposals and law changes are corrupted, they get pushed foward indefinitely until they are reversed or dropped.

    Three years is a LONG time in the technology and technology policy space...

    Pretty sure that our chancelloress for life already strongly favored some sort of privileged handling of certain traffic quite a while ago I suppose google didn't lobby enough around here.
