Blast Furnace Question Phase 3

Quick question.


Coming into Phase2-3 Transition, after Elementalist 3 we kill all Security Guards, which we have been leaving alone/multi-dotting up to this point.

After 4th Elementalist goes down, we were talking about stacking the Guards on the Heart of the Mountain. Does the Defense Shields affect the Boss?

What do you guys do for the clean up?

Yeah the shield affects the boss. My guild just had them low enough to kill them off quickly before swapping to the boss.
