Help with Amp Magic weakaura

I have been trying to figure this out but can't seem to get it right.

I would like a weakaura which tells me to use amp magic when a druid in the group uses tranquility or a shaman uses healing tide totem.

I tend to miss it a lot when they call it due to everything else going on. Any help creating this would be great.

Basically there are 3 auras for Tranq/Tide/Hymn and 2 seperate triggers in each.

The first trigger will check if amplify magic is off cooldown (but since I don't have a levelled mage WA's won't let me type amplify magic into the spell name box, so you need to do that - on your mage)

Second trigger looks for Tranq/Tide/Hymn casts.

When both conditions are met ie. amp is off CD and a cooldown is popped, the amp icon pops up and pulses.


If it doesn't work... make sure you've entered amplify magic into the first trigger for each aura as I said before. Since the add on is dumb and only lets you enter spells for the spec you are in and I dont mage :P.
And if it still doesn't work then maybe change the 2nd trigger from checking the combat log to just looking for the actual buff on yourself from the healing CD's. Pretty sure either would work perfectly fine

What you described is exactly what I am looking for though. Maybe the weakaura didn't export properly for you?

Else if you play EU I can invite you to a party and link it there. Or else I can describe in detail how to make it if you're US and it still won't work. And if you do download it and it won't actually work, the problem is the 2nd trigger and I can change it to definitely work I kinda just wasn't thinking when I made it. I'm like 70% sure of it working the way it is lol

Oh I figured it out. pasting it into the message board seemed to have added spaces in certain areas. I removed the spaces and now it is importing.

I got the spell ID added into each trigger 1. I don't have anyone to test this with right now but I have a raid tomorrow I can test it with. Thanks for the help. This should give me a start if it doesn't work exactly right.

Alrighty. Step by step.

First make the group to consolidate the 3 auras in to keep it neat and tidy :P

New -> Group (Regular, not dynamic). Name it Amp Magic or whatever you want.


Now we'll make the first aura, the 2nd and 3rd will be quicker since we just copy and paste the first and change one detail.


New -> Icon -> Name it 'Amp Tranq'


1) Go to the Trigger tab
2) Under 'Type' pick Status from the drop down menu
3) Then from the Status drop down Menu pick Action Usable
4) Under Spell name type Amplify Magic



That's the first trigger done, which checks if your Amp is usable.

Now for 2nd trigger. I'm gonna change it to the safer option that I know works, will which check whether your character is receiving a tranq rather than checking the combat log for the cast. Added benefit that this will only pop when you are in range of the tranq. So your amp will also be in range of the druid/sham/priest

Press Add Trigger and you should see a new blank trigger.

1) Under 'Type' pick Aura from the drop down menu
2) Then in spell name enter Tranquility or the spell ID <--- when we copy paste this aura, this will be the only thing we change.
3) Next 2 menus should default to Player/Buff and that's fine



Next is kind of unimportant visual stuff, what's above makes it work. Rest is meh.

Go to Display. It should default to the amp magic icon but if it doesn't then un-tick the automatic icon box. Press choose icon, and put amplify magic in search. There will be an annoying little '1' in the bottom right corner. To get rid of it just type %c in the text box and leave the big box that appears blank or whatever.


To make it Pulse or Flash
Go to Animations Tab -> Main and choose whatever.

To make a Sound
Actions Tab -> 'On Show' Section -> Choose something retarded (cookie monster)



So yeh, easy enough from there. Put it in your Amp Magic group to keep it tidy. Put it where you want it on the screen. Then right click to duplicate it.

From there you just rename the copy to Amp tide or whatever you want. Then just go the the 2nd trigger and change it from Tranq to healing tide.
You'll probly want it to show different icons or text based on what CD is used I dunno. If thats the case you can just enter text in that empty %c box that popped up and move it about/enlarge it in display settings.

The custom lua weakauras are amazing. I have seen some great ones.

Again, thanks for the guide even though I ended up not using it this time. I had no idea the message board was adding additional spaces into the string until I did research and found others with the same issue and figured it out.
