I feel a deeply personal attachment to this topic, and I wonder why...

Definitely butter on the upside, the aroma it gives off as it melts on hot toast is heavenly. And if butter isn't available, toast tastes great as well with peanut butter, grape jam or a slice of cheddar!

i fold the toast, so that it's like a warm butter sandwich.

The butter has to be melted on the toast before you put peanut butter on it and eat it, right side up. Who cares about crumbs, they brush off

Why only butter one side of the bread? Put butter on both sides!!!

Me? I eat it butterside down, so as to prevent crumbs from succumbing to gravity and falling on my shirt.
Anyone who eats their toast with the butterside UP is obviously an ignoramus that cannot grasp gravity.
The amount of butter I put on toast would proberbly drip if I ate it upside down.
/Mmmmm Thick cut toast with loads of butter /drooooool

With butter and horsemeat. The only true way to eat toast.
