Trinket stat budget too high for BRF?

Dunno if it's just a thing for caster trinkets... But BRF trinkets have a similar proc at 670 to 685 Highmaul, and more primary stat?

Does BRF have a too high budget for trinkets, or Highmaul too low?

just got 685 quiescent runestaone from a cache, and it's basically a wash comparing it with 685 sandmans and 670 crucible. This doesn't seem right to me at all.

It feels like trinkets have been "all over the place" this expansion, but many of the differences are due to the stat budget no longer being a 50%-50% split between static & proc (or second static) and the fact that Blizzard values the different mechanics differently: RPPM, proc chance with CD, activated and passive. Compare Furyheart Talisman with Shards of Nothing... 110 intellect vs. 229 intellect. Sure, the proc on Furyheart is on average more, but I doubt it compensates for a difference of 119 intellect. Then again, LFR gear is probably intentionally worse than normal mode raid gear.

It would just make more sense if there was a clear budget per ilvl like normal gear

at the moment it's not just ilvl but where you get it from as well...

yes brf trinkets are overbudget and superior to similar ilvl from other sources.

also quiescent runestone sucked before BRF

Well, keep in mind that you are comparing BRF gear that was just boosted 5 ilvls in attempt to make it stronger and a more attractive reward compared to HM gear. And for the most part BRF gear was designed to be better than HM drops as well – stronger stat budgets on the trinkets, and better itemization overall. And even for BRF trinkets the Blackhand ones are even stronger: the 670 Crucible has 335 int plus its proc, whereas the 670 ones from Darmac and Oregorger only have 283 Int with their procs.

yeah that 283 int is still more than highmaul trinket int.

Noticed the same thing with STR Trinkets the other day so it's not just casters.

heroic brf trinkets (680) were better than mythic hm trinkets (685) even before they gave brf items +5 ilvl.
so yes, brf trinkets are overbudget
