Accidents can happen regardless of how well you monitor something.

One.. We know where the plane crashed, unlike some of these Malaysian flights lately.

Two.. Flying is still a technology in progress. There are a lot of things about flying that are dangerous and unpredictable.

Could be human error you know.

Also keep in mind... unlike cars and much other technology, airplanes don't go 'out of date' or 'obsolete' or 'vintage' nearly as quickly. There are thousands of planes being used every day for commercial flights that are 20+ years old. They have checks to make sure they're still flight worthy but... unfortunately, things happen.

It won't get much better just because you think we live in such an advanced age. 3 counterarguments:
    - Human error (of course)
    - A lot of projects suffer from huge mismanagement, resources being mis-spent, lack of Q&A or testing to save costs, etc.
    - Technology becoming increasingly interconnected and thus attackable/hackable/unstable

We all know this is the start of the A.I uprising. They will start taking out planes so they can reduce the human population quickly.

    Tragic.

It seems like plane crashes are becoming more and more common in recent years. Makes me wonder if there's something amiss with the way the world is working lately.

The plane was there since 1991.
There should be some law, about passangers plane being like 10-12years old or even less.
This is 24 years old plane for fucks sake.

Less than 10 year replacement? Do you have any idea how much that would cost? lol These aren't cars.

Flutter beat me to it, but I don't think you realize how that would work. It wouldnt in any way, and the age of the plane most likely had literally nothing to do with this or most plane accidents.

What makes you think the age of the plane had anything to do with it, other then saying "24 years is a long time thus it was the cause because I say so"

Yes, absolutely. It's not practical. Planes undergo regular maintenance and as long as they check out, there's no reason to prematurely retire them. They do a better job of maintaining aircraft than people do maintaining their cars and have a much lower failure rate. In fact, it is still exceedingly rare to crash a plane compared to how many flights go on every day.
