    new build ram help

    just got the new build up and running,my pc reads 8g ram but say i can only use 3.90
    how do i fix this? i am using windows 7 and a m5 a97 r2.0 Motherboard

    You need to use 64bit version of Windows.

    To find out if your computer is running a 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows in Windows 7 or Windows Vista, do the following:

    It really doesn't sound like you're on 64-bit Windows, but it's possible a RAM stick is dead. If your Windows version is actually 64-bit, you may want to run a MemTest on it, or take out the RAM sticks and see if the computer boots using each stick individually.

    cpu is amd6300 and MB is asus m5 a97 r2.0

    Looks like you still need to disable the igpu via the uefi. That should free up the rest of the memory.

    what is that?i looked somewere before and the site said my gpu sometime will use my ram.
    so how do i free up the last 1.10g of ram?
