Herb Garden follower bonus

Been wondering about this for a while; if I assign a follower to the Herb Garden to select what herbs to grow, wait for the daily reset to make the herbs respawn, then take them off again...will that work? Or do you have to have the follower assigned there for some specific amount of time before the "choose what herbs to grow" will take effect?

I'm sure if you put her in before reset and choose, that should work.

I can confirm this. Put the follower in at 2:59am and you can safely remove him at 3:01am.

The only thing you need to leave the follower for is the bonus for work orders. For the choice you can do just before reset and remove just after reset.
