    [FFXIV][Spoliers] Final Quest

I decided to make a separate topic on this so at least no one can go "OMG you ruined it for me!!!", if they failed to see [Spolier] in the topic, it will be their own fault.

They have really taken a turn to the dark side with the latest haven't they? While epic, I am very sad that they killed off Nanamo!!!! She is one of my fav character

And looks like Raubahn is now gone (unless they want to make him some sort of master one arm swordsman).

The scene where the waiting girl with Lolorito, not sure what made of it, she obviously was on his side the moment the queen was poison, why bother showing us she bow to him?

And overall I did not expect we heading toward Ishgard in this manner....

Think the last part was just to add to the mood, the girl bowing that is, and how fucked up the coup was.

It was really really unexpected as you said.

Absolutely the best story I've seen play out in any MMO.

You had the impression that the Sultana would die from the onset, but her death scene was so visceral and raw. It ended up making it so much more emotional and tragic. What played out after was a complete roller coaster of shock and awe. It was completely riveting to the point I was exhausted by the end. Masterfully done.

If this is the bar that is being set for this game going forward, I can't wait for the expansion.

She was at Teledeji's side, not Lolorito. Lolorito set it all up (near as I can tell) and then sat back and watched it play out. Teledeji just took advantage of it (as Lolorito probably knew he would) and got himself killed (again, as Lolorito probably hoped would happen).

I think Teledji was in on the conspiracy. I bet he even thought he was in charge of it. But there was a conspiracy within the conspiracy, Lolorito and Ilberd. I think their plan was to use Teledji as their puppet, have him be the face of the conspiracy and rule from behind the scenes.

I think Lolorito wanted to replace one puppet who was breaking her strings (the Sultana) with a different puppet that would be easier to control (Teledji). The easiest way to do that is to bring Teledji in on the plan to depose the Sultana, and make him think he is in charge.

I don't think Lolorito anticipated that Teledji would be an idiot and goad Rauhban into killing him. I think that's the part of the plan that went wrong for Lolorito. Lolorito seems like the type who would much prefer ruling from the shadows, rather than being the acknowledged leader.

It was very well down & being able to do it in 1 clean sweep was great .

It tied everything together rather nicely and I haven't felt this invested in an MMO's story for quite some time. I hope it improves even more as we move into Heavensward because so far it's very promising.

This is one of the reasons that Final fantasy XIV is one of the BEST MMO's out there

What an amazing ending. That part were your character looks out towards the bridge and sees the torches coming and you running alone in the underground tunnel was just...sad. Seeing Tataru tear up when she sees you safe was quite heart warming. So was seeing the merchant from the start of the game come help you again and if you started in Ul'dah then it brings back even more memories.

I'm very curious to see how the story will play out now in the expansion because if I remember right wasn't there a cutscene with an Ascian behind the Archbishop? Which means there's something big happening there. Also will the Garlean empire take advantage of what happened in Ul'dah? Will the other city states side the the player character or what? What about the white haired boys sister? What will she do now? Many more questions and I'm SO CURIOUS TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS!

I knew it wasn't going to end well but I went in for a bad situation and came out of a crisis.

I'm still not over Nanamo. I dont think I'll ever be over nanamo.

I want Lolorito's head on a goddamn Pike.

I am with you on that one, I am so sad that Nanamo is gone

Yes there was a CS with an Ascian with the guy in Ishgard, so that means Ascian has certain level of influence in Ishgard, which is going to make your life hell when you get there.

Limsa and Gridania likely to place their trust in you, with what happened to Raubahn and Nanamo they likely to want to cut ties with Ul'Dah. I want to see what will Lolorito do now though:

    - He is the type that want to be more a Shadow Council, but now all potential puppets are dead.
    - What makes him think he can get away? He must have something to back him up to think he has the power. He is against Warrior of Light and pretty much entire Eorzea, no sign of the Ascian are on his side, Omega weapon not yet been dug out, so what makes him think he has the power to stand against the world?
    - Garlean likely to attack Ul'Dah as the other nations will now watch it burn, unless Lolorito and Garlean already made a pact.
    - Why the hell we even let ourselves be arrested in the first place? I am sure I could have nuked all those guards down without any issue.
    - Ilberd is stronger than Raubahn, but I am sure most of us would have suspected him as much anyway. That other guy in the CS where he keeps warning you about the Crystal Brave, wonder how did he end up. Ilberd likely to be some sort of Trial boss in expansion when we go back to confront Ul'Dah?

Lastly, I hope SE HQ is being harrassed and sent hate mails for killing Nanamo.

Oh and I am slightly disppointed with the aftermath.

I was hoping there will be lots of phased (so only people done the quest can see) Guards and Crystals Brave patrolling and wanted to see more major changes to the city.

Agreed, it was really weird doing those cut scenes and then heading right back in there for the Hatching Tide quests.

I'm really sad they killed Nanamo, but oh so relieved that Raubahn got to take care of Teledji before getting stopped by Ilberd.

I'm getting sick of Alphinaud though, honestly. He's just such a whiny prissy boy, it's hard for me to stomach being his errand boy... but honestly Minfillia wasn't much better, I have yet to understand how she is the one running the Scions, she's practically useless and only ever served to be a damsel in distress.

It was kind of heart warming and like, saddening? Usually you see her shes all cheerful and a bit of derp and it kinda stuck with me like that.

As for the merchant, didn't think they still remembered he existed. I was like... it's that guy from the beginning!

I honestly have no problems with Alphinaud as a character.

He is somewhat abrasive but he also got shit moving. I mean, it's highlighted right in the party scene: The Leaders were all ready to play buddy with Ishgarde but Alphinaud was the one who got the thing even moving, they were just lapping up the benefits of his efforts. And the game doesn't even gloss over the fact that his Idealism is to a fault-he lost his temper at the Talking table and the Admiral rebuffed him handily. and then first hand again when the Crystal Braves were pulled right out from under his feet in mutiny. Then Teledji went and turned all their hard-won successes right on their heads making it seem like they were Charming their way into political favors

All the Scion's successes undone in a single night, I love how a Guild of Merchants managed to do what Global Threats failed to do-It's such a refreshing change of pace to have games with Political Dangers in the plots as well as Mystical ones.

I too am a little upset in being saddled with Alphinaud. I don't really like him either. Also, the boy need to put on some real pants if he's going to ride with me.

But yea, I thought the ending was great. I actually could not bring myself to teleport back to Uldah for a few days, even though I needed to pick up some alex from the hunt vendor. When a story moves you that much... congratulations SE.

I've always loved the FF stories though.

Alphinaud is actually really well designed.

Enthusiastic, full of dream, put in all his energy to try to make that dream come true. Only to see people unwilling to help, but happily take in the credits; the nation that you helped now betraying you; all your friends that you fought with now scattered around, not even know if they are alive or dead; the army that you worked hard to build up, now slave for money and power and turned against you. It is really understandable that why he was defeated, it is like a someone worked into being a millionaire then got betrayed by a trusted business partner and lost everything, they would probably be just as defeated.

Urianger also got seen with the Ascian, maybe he is "joining" them to plot a revenge for Moenbryda?
