another star trek voyager question

So I'm re-watching through Star Trek Voyager and I've gotten to the episode "Twisted," Season 2 episode 6. The episode of the big distortion wave that twists and bends the ship and the crew spends the episode mostly trying to get to the bridge until they realize they can't. My question on this is why Tuvok left the bridge in this episode. It would seem that for a logical Vulcan that in an episode with an emergency such as this logic would dictate that he stay on the bridge until the situation has been resolved. I mean he left it with none of the senior officers on the bridge.

I understand yes story lines want to get the crew all in the episode as much as possible but seems they sacrificed the character's personality for this.

Perhaps he had to come down to see for himself. Vulcans aren't believers in the crazy. Then again, everything that ever happened to the Voyager crew was crazy...
