The last image of Yrel I remember is her stupidly throwing her only weapon at Blackhand's head like some Disney vilain fight, then him almost choking her to death.
She do anything since? Seems like everything now is about Khadgar and Gul'Dan.

How about becoming an exarch? And leading the assault on tanaan gates?
Nagrand
Telaar in Nagrand was attacked by the Warsong clan and Yrel, now a Vindicator, suggested to build a new base for the Alliance and immediately gave necessary orders. Yrel herself was found north of Telaari Station in Yrel's Watch. When the troubles of the Warsong clan, Burning Blade clan and the highmaul ogres in Mar'gok's Overwatch dealt with, she sent her force into Lok-rath to capture the Warsong orcs. She sent the commander to the captured leader, Uruk Foecleaver, but the orcs refused to yield. Yrel had one more task for the commander - Thaelin had sent her boxes full of gorens and she asked him to collect them and sent them back to the dwarf in order to get her revenge. Once the Alliance forces were gathered and ready, she led the attack on Grommashar and Garrosh. After killing Durn the Hungerer, she ordered Rangari D'kaan to guard the entrance to Garrosh's throne area. With the words that Maraad would be proud of her, D'kaan blew the gate and Yrel with the commander entered and started fighting Garrosh. The fight was stopped by Thrall who challenged him to mak'gora. Yrel was then seen with the frostwolf orcs, Horde and Alliance planning their next steps near the Stones of Prophecy where Garrosh was killed.http://wow.gamepedia.com/Yrel#NagrandGarrison Campaign
Yrel returned to Shadowoon and once visited the Garrison and told Deedree to send the commander to Elodor. Yrel explained that she wanted to become an Exarch but needs help with three tasks. She entered Auchindoun and defeated the fallen Exarch Hataaru and Maraad who told her she was indeed ready. She also needed to kill the fury Everburn in Frostfire Ridge and help the rangari in Nagrand with their poison problem in Cerulean Lagoon. After it was done, her final task was to defeat the remaining Exarchs - Akama, Naielle and Maladaar. Once she did it, Maladaar announced her as Exarch and joined the Council of Exarchs and the coliseum in Karabor exploded in joy.[3]
She is ultimately seen leading the Alliance in the attack on Gates of Tanaan after the death of Azuka confronting Warchief Hellscream. Grommash "invited" them to Tanaan.

When did this happen in game?
Have to do the Garrison Campaign missions on your alliance character.
I'm not overly fond of how they've handled Yrel. I like the fact that a female protagonist can kick some butt for once, but she feels very rushed. I'm the one doing all the heroic deeds, and she just happens to sweep in at the last minute and gain all the glory.
Instead of her becoming the Exarch and I becoming the "Garrison Commander", I would have preferred it the other way around. She could have been put in charge of the dratted thing while I went to Karabor to hang out. Or better yet, the Garrison could have been cut from the game, but we could still have followers that we sent on missions from Karabor - Yrel being one of them. Then, by the end of the expansion she could have unexpectedly risen to the challenge and done something great, which earned her a ticket back to MU Azeroth.

She died at the Wrathgate, didn't she?

Isn't rushed the theme of this expansion? I am very much expecting Yrel to be stuck on Draenor so this whole story she got is only for WoD. She will be left in the dust and forgotten. Hell, they can't even be bothered to work with all the characters they have now, asking for new ones is beyond their talents. They barely give racial stories any work. Racial leaders are usually forgotten. Whole zones are damn near abandoned. Blizzard has gotten HORRIBLE at managing the monster they have created and can't tell stories with the cast they have made. They can add new characters if they want, but they really need to progress the stories already in the game instead of piling more into the ever increasing mound of forgotten tales.
There was barely any story in 6.1 so not really a chance for her to do anything.
Pretty much.Isn't rushed the theme of this expansion?
If she didn't have her story arc in 6.0 when would she have had it? 6.1 had nothing and 6.2 is apparently the end of the expansion.

I think that yrel could use some more manliness. Maybe more muscles and posing at her enemies. She also needs to get rid of that...whatever accent she has and get a book with some good one liners (because some of her lines are just meh). She should also bite someones ear off.
I agree that there should be more attention paid to those narratives. I'd like a mini-team of developers which was solely responsible for small and regular updates to the ongoing lore in the entire game world. Whether small pieces of dialogue among NPCs in Elwynn Forest or lore-centric quest chains resolving the conflicts at Gilneas.
Yrel is rushed and not even Alliance but then, they sacrificed original universe Maraad and AU Velen for her. So you get none for the price of two!
