Arcane Barrage.. When to use it?

Hello, mages!

I am very new to mage and when I look through other peoples logs, I see a very low amount of Arcane Barrage usage.. Since Arcane Barrage takes up all 4 Arcane Charges and makes Arcane Blast (The most damage in a fight) weaker until it gets to 4 Arcane Charges again + the higher cast time again after the use of Arcane Barrage.. Is it then very important to use it, or is there a special time to use it? This is for pure single target fights

U use it everytime when:
-U dont have Evocation ready
and
-u are below 93% mana
and
-u dont have a proc of AM or a charge of SN
So to say it in the other way:
Cast 4 ABs to get to 4 Charges->cycle through SNs, Missileprocs and more ABs as long as your mana before a cast of AB is over 93%->then cast ABarr
If Evocation is ready just burn through your mana with ABs till ~50% and then evo back to ~90%
