some mage dps help

hi guys, my friend plays mage and we're in a 6/10 M guild, so nothing hardcore or anything but we've been noticing that he only gets bad rankings basically. He never seems to top the dmg meters and when we look at the rankings mages seem really strong. The mmo-c community seems to be very helpful so I was hoping that maybe you guys and gals could help me out here. I have no clue about mages so I can't really help him..

other bosses can be seen too, but hansgar&franzok was where he seemed to suck the most despite this being a boss where fire mages REALLY shine.

I'm not a mythic raider so my insight is limited as to how the smart stampers work. I wonder whether it's a case of him not using certain spells when the situation requires, due to movement. Reason I think that is this here's a log of me doing similar dps as him on that boss, 18 ilvls lower.

Now that's an unfair comparison due to how mythic functions but lets have a go.

I notice on the casts that your kill is a minute longer, yet he only has 4 more Inferno Blast casts than I do. That spell has a 8 second cooldown and 2 charges. That must mean that he's sitting there with 2 charges at times, which is bad. He also only has 3 more Pyro's than me which seems weird but that comes from lack of casts again. Now I'm sure there's not much you can do there due to the movement but a few more should be going out at least. Looking at the total casts of things he doesn't double pot and he only has 1 more cast of Ice Floes than I do which seems wrong. Perhaps he can improve his ice floes usage? It's hard to say for certain.

His Living Bomb uptime is good but it ticks fewer times than mine does, on a 20% longer fight. I'd check that he's making sure to spread it to the other guy before he jumps away, just to get that extra little bit of dps out.

These are only minor things that I could notice quickly in my tired state. I mainly posted this for the armory link but hopefully someone with a better mind can see further than me or springboard off it.

jeah i think he is using combustion wrong too...

Hmm well as far as i can see its mostly bad combustion usage. Bad openers, not knowing how to do the double ignite trick, also for some reason he delayed using it for about 30sec after it went off cd.
