Would your family/friends be shocked if...

Would your family be shocked or surprised if they saw your internet personality?
Most people online behave quite different than they do in real life due to anonymity and lack of consequences there would be in real life.
Do you behave differently or are you exactly the same and would you family be pleasantly surprised or the opposite?

For me they would be shocked in a negative way as I'm a lot more rude online than I am in real life.
    What about you?

I'm not really all that different. Maybe a bit more blunt that I would be in person, but you rather have to be given the lack of inflection and tone with the written word.

I have social phobia, so I'm more me on the internet, without having to worry about that

I'm a bit more shy in real life. Other than that? No they wouldn't be surprised.

That's funny. Those who know me but don't game with me would be surprised to find I'm more friendly and polite online. More laidback. I have several real life friends who game with me, and I can say that is amusing how quickly a guy I know to be a pussy in the real world can grow a set of balls behind the keyboard. That's the beauty of the Internet, I guess. Allows everyone with an inner scumbag to let it shine.

Nope. I'm the same. If anonymity changes your behavior it's just removing your mask.

Probably not, since I'm not all that different online than I am in real life. I'm very shy in real life, but not so much on the internet, but that's about the only thing I can think of that changes. And even then, it depends on what I'm browsing and who I'm addressing.

I'm sometimes more curt online, but that's because I'm sick of trying to explain things that people can look up for themselves. That's about it.

Is your father former WWE superstar, Stone Cold Steve Austin?

I doubt they'd be surprised. I'm very similar offline. Probably a bit warmer/friendlier in person - hard to pick up context and personality from text alone.

I am the same online as I am in person.

About the only thing different about me is I a bit better of a talker and debater online.

In person, I honestly can't think fast enough on what I want to say and put it into words or at times trying to recall facts. Online, I can think of what I want to say and say it as I want to minus the numerous spelling errors I have. With the added benefit of being able to take the time and fact check what I am trying to say to make sure I don't get details wrong at times on stuff I am not 100% sure on at times.

Basically I am much easier to talk to online and understand than in person on the more complex issues but personality wise, I am the same.
Since we can't call out Trolls and Bad Faith posters and the Ignore function doesn't actually ignore it. Add
    "mmo-champion.com##li.postbitignored"
to your ublock or adblock filter to actually ignore ignored posters. Now just need a way to ignore responses to them as well.

Quite surprised with the answers so far, I always think people are very different online than they are in real life!

So you are a racist in real life too? Don't you get a lot of negative responses with such perspective?

Mod Edit: Don't insult someone / bring disagreements from other threads.
