What i think would help is add a drop to the mini boss trash. Would only have to drop one item and you'd get saved to that mobs loot drop until the raid resets. Would make killing trash feel a bit more rewarding but not as rewarding as killing a boss. This gear can also just be the boe's that trash drops already but make them bop instead for that mob. They have already added in these mini bosses in so wouldn't be too big of a change to give them a loot table. Also since they now have a guaranteed drop you can also make them hard enough that they cause everyone to pay attention to what they are doing to kill it.

The Ogron Hauler and that Lord Rhyolith one are already hard enough as it is. Harder than some of the real bosses.

brf has so little trash as it is

but, what i wouldn't mind is if all trash were just mini bosses. maybe have 2-3 on the way to each boss.

ToC taught us and the devs that yes, raids should and needs to have trash for pacing.

However, newer trash suffers the same thing as many other things in the game, that your success is guaranteed. Only major mistakes are going to cause anything close to a wipe. Guaranteed success = boredom.
Yeah, and unrewarding, annoying, unnecessarily "difficult" time waste = frustration. Trash should either teach boss mechanics(Ascendant Council, General Nazgrim, Sindragosa etc did that) or be rewarding enough to not feel like it's a waste of time. Trash drops help this somewhat, but they're just not consistent enough. If there were slightly fewer trash packs, each of which required a bit more effort to kill, but each pack was guaranteed to drop an epic(think blue/yellow packs in Diablo 3), that would make it significantly less annoying. Or just add some kind of guaranteed loot to the already existing "difficult" trash packs(Blast Furnace giant guy, named guy in front of Flamebender/Beastlord etc)

Trash mob.. because it wasn't a boss, it doesn't have boss mechanics, doesn't provide a higher loot table.

It was still part of the fantasy feel.
Shall we mention ZG? The armies of mob in there? That provided a feel.
Kara, the dance hall and banquet rooms...... That provided a feeling and atmosphere.

It is what it is..... today's wow community is different from the old one.
The old one actually enjoyed the entirety of the instances, and not just the bosses
Exactly, times have changed, the community has changed, and the game has changed as well. I'd also mention ICC trash, that actually felt pretty cool, although it did get annoying after clearing it the 100th time(and I refuse to believe that trash didn't get annoying back in Vanilla/TBC after clearing it lots of times, no matter how epic it may have felt).

It's not loved because it was just one room and just 5 fights, horrible tier token system and several classes using the same tier designs, not at all because it lacked trash.

ToC's lack of trash wasn't the only reason(or even the main reason, honestly) people didn't like it. Only having 2 rooms, no "real" tier sets just one set per armor type that got recolored per class, low number of (not great, for the most part)bosses, silly amount of different lockouts to "cap" each week etc were a much bigger issue.

    No.
Fights of similar or higher difficulty than bosses should similar or better gear.
Which means it would no longer be trash.
Which, in turn, since The Global TOTC Butthurt Pandemic, means no fun at all and tons of whining.

I think the trash in recent raids are very complex and interesting, but like anything they get boring after a while.

I'd like hard trash but with an optional "easy" mode if you have the specific classes with you.

For exemple undeads that priests and paladins could easily repulse, or deadly traps that rogues would desactivate, feary beasts that hunters would charm, invisible walls that mages would dispell etc. etc.

Make same semi-random and it would keep the group focused!

The only thing I can think of that would make it more "epic" is if the trash had names you encountered while questing....

Oh wait, that's what bosses are for.

And actually there's a lot of named mobs in BRF. Some of the trash is really more like mini-bosses.

Harder trash is pointless ... you brought us SSC ... ok, TK had hard trash .. Sunwell had hard trash ... lets see .. the worst was the trash before C'thun in AQ40 if anyone ever did that back in the day .. jesus christ it was tough .. There is no point to harder sets of trash mobs ... just stupid imo..

I think lots of mobs adds a lot to the ambience of a raid zone, especially if they're doing a bunch of stuff.

Really, I'd prefer more trash that was way easier to kill to less trash that was harder. Huge waves of easily killable scenic mobs, with a few tough named ones here and there to spice things up.

TotC was "loved" so much not for zero trash but for SINGLE F.CKING ROOM WITH ANNOYING 30 MINUTES RP BETWEEN BOSSES!!1oneoneeleven

TBC Gruul was perfect raid in my opinion. Single trash pack - Boss - 2 packs of trash - Boss. Perfect!

Maybe some traps that were mean't for us and then we somehow are able to turn the table with the traps and use them on the trash to clear the trash faster. and the traps could be in different places/different trash each weeks.

most fun type of trash is massive packs that you can AoE , picking mobs one by one dosnt belong in massive raids

To be honest, I quite liked the ToC model. Maybe remove the "you stay in the same place" part, but having no trash was great.

More interactive trash. Using the mechano-tanks against the trash. Using weapons that certain trash mobs have and drop against the rest of the mobs.

I guess I'd take ToT as a example of how trash can also be pretty fun. The bridge from Jin'rokh to Horridon comes to mind for me. Some people liked it, a lot of people didn't I suppose. I liked it simply because you had to pay attention to what was going on around you with those pesky ghosts spooking around. Always fun to see fellow raiders be blasted to the moon. Also the snail pack made up for a lot of good trolling. Good times.

But 99% of the time trash is just... Trash.
