How will this laptop run WoW?

My old desktop is dying and it's time for an upgrade, and I'd like to go laptop this time around since I'm away from home pretty often, often enough to make one worth my time anyway.

WoW is the only PC game I play, otherwise it's consoles and handhelds, so I don't need top of the line builds. I don't even need it on Ultra, just med or high. So with a bit of looking around I found this on Amazon:
    http://www.amazon.com/MSI-CX61-2PC-4...256778&sr=1-24

    Processor: 3 GHz Core i5-4200M
    RAM: 8 GB DDR3
    Hard Drive: 750 GB mechanical_hard_drive
    Graphics Coprocessor: NVIDIA Geforce GT820M
Graphics Card Ram Size: 2000 MB

I am not tech savvy. How would this handle WoW going forward?

Biggest drawback I see is the graphics card.. That is an entry level card. The lowest available even.

Medium settings with 30+ fps. Raids would probably have to be lowered to fair with shadows off to stay above 30 fps.

Yeah the video card is only slightly better than integrated graphics from intel. You can find a much better laptop for the money id bet.

They're just fine for me is all. Ultra would be nice but it just isn't necessary.

The only downside about the first one is the slower cpu, but the second is decent.

If you plan on playing anything besides WoW, the first one i linked is much better.

Haha, considering my current computer is about 5 years old, I think I can handle a slower CPU. Thanks, I'll look into that first one.

Okay, heres another laptop. Its better than the one your looking into and the same price ish.

It has a bigger hardrive, and a better gpu. Same cpu and ram.

The acer aspire v 15 is awesome. I bought that laptop a few months ago and I love it. Runs WoW on High at about 40+ fps, usually staying higher than that. Raids are really smooth. I haven't had to lower my graphics from high. Also be aware it has no disc tray.

Thanks for all the help everyone. The ASUS one is really nice. Never used Newegg though (as I said in the OP, not super big into computers). How are they?

Newegg is one of the most trusted and reliable tech sites on the internet. I trust them as much as Amazon.

Awesome, then that's what I'll go with. You've been super helpful dude, thanks a ton.

Yeah, two biggest things to look at on a laptop are CPU and GPU, because most lower and some middle range ones are soldered to the boards.

The way you figure what a GPUs performance roughly is, is how they are numbered. Taking the 820m and 940m as examples versus lets say a GTX680m.
The first number, example being the GTX680m, is gtx(6XX)m. That denotes the generation of the unit. The 2nd number, gtx(X8X)m, denotes the performance of the card. so a 680m compared to a 940m is 3 generations older, but at a much higher rate of performance. Comparing that 940m to the 820m on the other hand, I would avoid the 820 like the plague. Not only is it one generation older, but a few notches in performance less.

The above recommended machines that have the 940m will do you good, but do not expect miracles with very high settings at respectable frame rates. The card will not perform.
