Need help selecting parts for new computer

So my current computer is getting old, constant freezing etc, and im thinking of getting a new one. Everyone recommends building your own. Problem is i know next to nothing about the matter. I see something like Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor and it means nothing to me, just a bunch of words and numbers.
Trying to use a custom PC build site is near pointless, i can pick the parts but i don't know which are good, which work with other parts, which fit the case, when i can get by with something cheaper etc.

Note: I've found that when it comes to computers something always goes wrong, so i wont be trying to assemble the computer myself, so gotta take assembly cost into account.

    Budget: $1600
Resolution: Not quite sure what this is... Desktop > screen resolution says 1680x1050. /shrug
Games / Settings Desired: Pretty much just want to be able to play any game i want comfortably. Witcher 3, LoL, WoW etc.
Any other intensive software or special things you do (Frequent video encoding, 3D modeling, etc): no
    Country: Australia
Parts that can be reused: 0
Do you need an OS?: Probably need windows, idk how good/bad the newest windows is, using 7 atm, seems fine.
Do you need peripherals (e.g. monitor, mouse, keyboard, speakers, etc)?: no

This is what I could find for the Australian market. It is not as powerful as I was hoping to make, but hot damn those Australian prices. From here, if you could afford to, I would suggest possibly getting a GTX 970 so you could have higher settings for longer, but this will be just fine for now. The only flavor thing is the case really, I like the one in the link, but if you need a disc drive, I would suggest another case. The Fractal Design Define R5 (No window), or the NZXT H440 are also good choices.

If you don't need to spend money on the OS or when you can save up a little get yourself a decent 1920x1080 monitor

    ViewSonic VX2370Smh-LED ~$195

Yeah you need at least 10 forum posts I believe. You can just break the link and post it though if you want any feedback.
