Anyone else really dislike specialists?

Well... a specialist makes it easier for the team to engage in something else while still getting that important XP. But ive met specialists that think they are something else..... they can lose the game just by them selfs. But a decent specialist can double the xp income and outlevel the other team easily.

BUT, that being said. I truely hate stealth characters. I really hate them. I have yet to meet a good one that can do something really usefull. They just tend to die all the fucking time. But I havent hit 40 yet either, so i cant judge them before a serious high ranked match....

Specialists in HoTS have gotten rave reviews and they're one of the unique elements of the game - I hope they take this on board and make heaps more! I love heroes with wacky out-there playstyles that bring a new dimension to the game.

Specialists are my favorite too, Murky is my favorite hero and I'm getting Abathur next. Sylvanas is such a beast, Zagara is cool too but the creep mechanic is just annoying to me.

I actually think Zagara's creep mechanic is way too powerful. Once it gets going there's no way to stop it without riding over the whole map using your AoE on cd.

Though I don't like Murky. And I don't think I've ever seen anyone play vikings in ranked so no opinion on them.

Never played him until a few weeks ago. Now I'm almost level 10. He took some getting used to but if played well he is INSANE.

Zera is a monster. He can stealth gank AND lane, and he can initiate with enormous burst you're unlikely to survive, but if anything goes wrong - poof! He's gone. Also he murders Abathurs.

Nova is not as versatile, her sole purpose is to roam the map and gank vulnerable heroes. Done right she is an unholy terror. But it actually takes really good map awareness to play her well, otherwise she's just getting herself killed and/or leaving your team in 4v5s.

Also, fuck Triple Tap. Fuck it with Diablo's spikey dick.

Yeah I mean I don't lose it very often. It just seems to get annoying later on in the game when you're with the team most of the time and it seems impossible to be on it a lot. I don't know much about her though so I'm not exactly sure what you're supposed to do.

It's extremely annoying on heroes with no untargeted AoE, or long CD on it, or mana issues... you have to invest so much resource into removing it but it's just a short cd for Zagara to lay it. Personally I think it should lose stealth if you're standing close enough to the creep node.

Gazlowe is the worst hero in the game but the other specialists are all viable to some extent, or in case of Zagara/Sylvanas/TLV actually really good. They tend to outclass a lot of assassins in the game.

Having hammer be a literal tank and the not be tanky is a nasty trap for new players, I hate when she's on free rotation.

To be honest the Siege Mode is more of a trap than the fact that she's an actual tank. So many idiots just keep sitting in Siege Mode 24/7 while letting everyone wail on them.

I generally hate seeing games where I land a Gazlowe, Murky, or Abathur too. No one seems to know how to play them in quick match anyways. Especially Abathur. I feel like I'm playing 4v5 when I get grouped with him which is sad. I know he can be a great asset, but he's complex.

I've seen some amazing Sgt. Hammers though. I'd probably play her myself if I liked the way she looked. I don't care for a generic female dwarf in a generic tank. They should have used Horace Warfield for that character like they originally planned instead of Hammer. It's obvious why they decided to go with Hammer instead, but meh.

Depends on the composition.

If I see a Zagara and I have a hero that gets the Burning Aura....I go that so I passively kill them just by being near them.

I can top Hero damage, takedowns, siege, and XP contribution as Gazlowe all in the same game. Grav Bomb/Explodium combo is absolutely devastating to the enemy team, especially if you have Turrets set up. Gazlowe can still solo camps easily withot Robo Goblin, and Grav Bomb is just...all around better when used right.

I've seen a LOT of Gazlowes. I think once I actually encountered a very good one. Sadly, they are few and far between. I've tried "being good" at Gazlowe, but I just end up getting my butt kicked in. lol

I love specialists. However, I feel Blizzard needs to keep pushing that envelope for the hero to qualify for specialist. Abathur? TLV? Gazlowe? Yeah I don't think they could ever qualify for any other role. However, when I look at Sylv I don't think specialist; I think assassin. If they don't get lazy with the design and just slap specialist on it, I'll continue to be really happy with everything.

Hmm yeah I don't really feel like when I play Sylv I'm a specialist either. I love that I can push down lanes really quickly and get some special one on one time with turrets but her kit really screams 'pick people off' and at later levels it is 'spread vulnerability and wailing arrow into the enemy team'. Possession right now just feels underwhelming, if that gets the love Blizz talked about then I'd love to see that in play more.

As for some of the other heroes, yeah I'm not sure how some of those qualify as 'specialist' either.

Maybe if it could convert minions as an aoe? Late-game syl going from lane to lane basically denying the enemy team all of their creeps. Send catapults back out of your own pushed lane.

If they made it an AoE they'd have to increase the CD. Otherwise she'd be able to control every single wave in a lane after level 10. That's a lot of extra pushing power.

Though at the same time I think that would be an interesting counter balance since it gives an extra wave of exp for the opposing team.

30 second CD would be reasonable; she'd be able to control two lanes at most, never all 3. Or wait... what if instead of converting them, her Possession aoe-killed the minions, and them summoned an equal number of banshees in their places that last for 20 seconds or so? That way it's not perma-pushing power. And on enemy mercs it just converted them, but only for a very limited amount of time?
