How well will WoW run on this?

I am looking to buy a new computer to play wow on. How well would it run with the following components?

Power suply: Cooler Master B600 Ver.2 600W PSU
    Processor: Intel i5-4960k
    Motherboard: Asus z97-P, socket-1150
    RAM: HyperX Fury DDR3 1600MHz 8Gb Black
Graphics card: MSI GEforce GTX 970 4GB
SSD: Not decided + probably a 1-2tb hdd (shouldn't matter to much).

I am looking for how well it would run and improvements in the same price range. Thanks!

WoW runs just fine on most toasters. You'll have no trouble whatsoever running it on that machine.

i5 is great for CPU heavy games (most MMO's) and that GPU is totally fine to run pretty much anything right now in high / ultra settings afaik.

Looks good to me, though I will recommend a decent size SSD and throw your main game(s) on it, then get an HDD for games that you don't play as much. I mean it's not a big deal, but I am picky like that.

60fps when not surrounded by 50 people spamming abilities on ultra (assuming you're not running a 4k display)

I still run my 2500k @ stock, 780 Ti Classified @ stock with a res of 1440p, ultra settings with 2xMSAA, vsync on and achieve 60fps in most situations, except for cities with 100 people and certain fights everyone spamming aoe.

You'll definitely be @ 60 in zones, a bit lower in cities (also depends on res and shadow settings), raids will cause it to fluctuate as well since WoW becomes cpu-bound when more people appear (as long as the GPU isn't a bottleneck)

Definitely get an SSD for your OS + WoW, the difference will be like night and day.

You can also gain a worthwhile amount of performance when surrounded by many other players via lowering shadows from ultra to good/high.

You may want to consider waiting for Intel's Skylake, which should be the first proc worth upgrading to from the 2500kk (Sandybridge)

Thanks for the feedback guys. How much more would it cost me if i wanted to run it at max without ever dropping below 40fps?

Well, technically that can't be guaranteed, but that system is basically already capable of that, you'd just have to lower shadow settings from ultra to good when in a city/raid, and even then you may hit sub 40fps for a second or two simply because what's occurring on-screen at that time is hard to render.

I say this based on the logic (and experience) that @ 1080p in a 20man, when spamming AoE I could see it hitting sub 40fps, even if just for a second.

All of this also assumes you're not playing at some crazy high res like 4k and that you have Vsync enabled.
