It's more going to work the other way - if Overwatch does well it'll "earn" a spot in HoTS.

But yes I want the shit out of a HoTS Tracer hero.

Plus I think one of the major strengths of HotS is that it's a moba that has characters people already are familiar with. They are going to get much more $ and attention adding say, The Butcher, over Tracer or Reaper, which no one even really knows yet.

They said no Overwatch champions in Heroes until the game has established itself. They want Overwatch characters to make their debut and time in the spotlight in their own game first.

Though that hasn't stopped them throwing in some easter eggs like the pinup girls Tychus' shoulder pads in his alt skins :P

If they ever implement them, my picks would probably be:

    1) Tracer
    2) Winston
    3) Mercy?
    4) Bastion?

That would cover assass/warrior/support/specialist at least.

I'd say Blizzcon gets enough press all on its own these days.

Honestly I think Overwatch has a very high chance of becoming more successful than Hots. The somewhat aimed-fire and "I press a button - everything dies on the screen" abilities will attract a lot of people. Plus, the matchmaking won't be as much of an issue as in Hots.

My bet: If open Beta of Overwatch is going to be released before November - it will have more players by the end of the year than Hots.

Matchmaking will be exactly the same issue as in HotS. That's what happens when you take a single player evaluation system (ELO) and press it onto a team based game. It doesn't fit. Never will. Not designed to evaluate group success/failure.
Users with <20 posts and ignored shitposters are automatically invisible. Find out how to do that here and help clean up MMO-OT!

I totally agree on elo-group issue. But FPS (especially group one) will be more forgiving on the system. Not without issues, but it should be far away from hots level.
