White Gunmen Shoots Up A Charleston, South Carolina Church

Oh boy, here we go. This won't end well.

Nine people have died after a gunman entered the Emanuel AME church in Charleston.
Eight people were dead when police arrived on the scene, following an emergency call just after 9pm local time.
A ninth person died later in hospital.
At least one other person was taken to hospital. Police would not confirm the number of survivors or their condition.
Police are still hunting a suspect, described as a white male, aged around 21.
The shooting is being investigated as a hate crime.

If you've ever seen comment sections on most sites that report news, there's usually a mountain of racist vitriol when the perp is black, and folks saying all blacks are violent. I think it's ok to mention the race of the shooter, especially if this was a hate crime.

A black church is no more racist than a Russian church or a Jewish synagogue. Blacks had to historically make their own congregations in the US because Americans whites were so bigoted they didn't even want to be in the same churches with blacks.

Well doesn't mean it's divided that way legally, but if it's well known that is where a lot of black people would be, whether its sanctioned in such a way or not, that would still beg the question of race being a motive, seeing as how the shooter was white.
