    Is living in Gilneas viable?

Have the Forsaken completely ruined it or could people live there?

    Thanks in advance!

The City itself is rubble an possible still blighted, but the surrounded country side that wasnt effected by the cataclysm is probably safe if the ongoing battle isn't near there.

No, most of the country is fine. The southwestern lowlands did sink into the sea, so they're out, but the capital city and the rest of the surrounding countryside is basically fine. The New Plague used was a diluted version that was basically only a deadly gas - the Forsaken learned their lesson after making Southshore a ruin they couldn't even use themselves - so once the Forsaken aren't a problem, it would be pretty easy to move back into Gilneas and rebuild.

The city itself is destroyed, it was burned down. And the Forsaken didn't use the diluted Blight because of Southshore.

What about the humans/black dragons/dragonkin living there, who were encountered in patch 4.3?

City is habitable. It just needs a restoration effort to re-populate it with people who fled and newborns.

Habitable by dragonkin and people taking dragonblood.

Edit: can no longer find the tweet saying that it is burned down. So maybe it is?

Also it's habitable by rogues in stealth. I mean, my brother didn't complain about any plague residue and reeking corruption when he confronted the Blackhowl inside Gilneas City. The war damaged the city, of course, but they can rebuild what was damaged very easly, since the dragonkin/humans occuped the place without major issues.

    Structure? Check.
    Volatile Residues cleansed? Check.

    It only needs society.

You're right, they did say at some point that the city is now essentially in ruins. Granted, I can't find the quote either, so it's possible we're both quite insane.

This, it would have to rebuilt and cleaned up for it to be inhabitable again.

Not even sure if it's possible to actually even cure the plague, could provide a potential hook for them to go to other worlds in search of a cure as a potential longterm goal for them.

Such a pity. Gilneas had beautiful architecture. I really wish they would explore the worgen lore and let us go back to Gilneas (provided it's not a wreck).

I am pretty sure the city is too contaminated for anyone to live in but as far as I know there are zones still pretty untouched, not counting of course, with the places the sea claimed. A shame really.
