    Personal loot drop rates.

Please post your results from using personal loot here. I havn't seen any numbers on how much more loot is going to be dropping with personal loot and would like to find out. Please include number of players, difficulty, boss, and keep tier and non tier pieces separate.
    Example format:
    22 players - Xhul'horac - Normal - 6 + 3 tier

    - - - Updated - - -

One single bump, would be nice if we had some data to compare.

No organized raiding guild would be stupid enough to use personal loot, instead of distributing BiS where it matters.

Didn't seem like peresonal loot was buffed at all. We used it tonight and it didnt feel any better than it used to. Looks like we're going back to master looting soon.

@urok actually Personal Loot will win over Master Looter at the beginning of a new tier. Peronal Loot is guaranteed to drop exactly as much loot as Master Looter in addition to a chance to drop one extra loot. Basically at the start you are guaranteed to get the same amount of upgrade AND a chance for one more. This means you might get higher ilvl quicker. However once you gotten a few upgrades it is more likely to get more upgrades if you switch over to Master Looter. Or is a chance for one player to get one BiS better than all people getting upgrades that might be BiS and might not, but still upgrades.

We ran Heroic last night with 22 people. We were only getting 4 items per boss on master loot with 1 tier token dropping on the bosses that had them.

It won't. It's designed to give PuGs more incentive to use it, not progress raid groups. Getting moderately more items is not worth it if they go to the wrong people.

The amount of loot or average ilvl means absolutely nothing if the right players don't have it.

Did the first 4 bosses of HFC, personal rolled tier helm and the 2h sword from the council fight. So far so good.

As a guild we've decided that for the first couple of weeks we'll run with Personal Loot purely because that in most cases the item level upgrade alone is worth the extra primary stat. We're not sure how much extra loot we'd get compared to Master Looter but the theory is that any drop is more than likely an upgrade for most.

We ran an optional normal mode (personal loot) before we started heroic (master looter / loot council) last night. I didn't really pay too much attention to how many people we had and how many drops we got, but I wanted to mention that you still can get trash epics with Personal. Someone in our group got a warforged mail belt - looted just like a trash green (and immediately sold it to a guildie for 40k lol)
I am the one who knocks ... because I need your permission to enter.

It is worth noting that personal loot is now susceptible to lockout conflicts if another player has done the raid prior. Another thing in favoir of personal loot this tier are the massive loot tables that are nearly double the size of the previous tier.

We went personal loot instead of loot council last night. Everybody got the wrong gear.
I got a 705 haste/mastery caster dagger when I'm using a 706 M WF haste/mastery caster dagger for example... A decent piece of gear being DE

Assuming it works the same way as group loot 20% per player but personal loot is 20% + X% per player the drop of 4 loots is very interesting, as that would not have been possible with group loot.

Regularly in a raid of 13 people you would expect 13*20% = 2.6 drops
    Here we have 13*X%=~3.2

X%=24.5% which would be 20% too 25% more loot. A reasonablenumber.
There is some error here because of the 3.2 assumption maybe it is 3.3 or 3.1 where the first chance at 4 loots appears.

How exactly is that the "wrong" gear? It has the same secondaries as the one you are using, it is the same type as the one you are using. You are simply equipped with an item that happens to be one itemlevel better, but that doesn't make it "the wrong gear". If you had used ML-LC, that dagger would probably not have dropped and you wouldn't have gotten it. Something else may or may not have dropped, but you cannot say for sure.

I can understand "the wrong gear" if a hunter got an intellect cloak or strength neck, but because it's not an upgrade? Pfft...

Maybe there was someone else for whom it would have been a large upgrade. Gear is for the raid group, not the individual player. Don't need a high item level to bounce between your garrison and shipyard.

It's the wrong gear everytime someone gets it who doesn't need it, but someone else in the raid does.
We took people who weren't part of our core mythic raids who actually got loads of loot. Again come mythic how is that going to help?

I'd much prefer however many pieces drop on ML going to people who need it than twice as many on personal loot being wasted.

Again, with ML that item might not have dropped AT ALL. With ML you might have gotten something else, something that nobody could use. Lack of upgrades doesn't make it wrong gear.
If you want the system to consider current gear and drop something better or nothing at all, you would end up in a situation where you will quickly have a full set of M-WF-socketed BiS gear on all raiders and nobody would get any loot on any boss. And then what? Stop raiding?

Current system makes sure you get x amount of loot per boss. It has never checked for upgrades and decided if you should get loot or not and it should never start doing that. It is not meant for progression where people NEED gear. It's meant for runs where people WANT gear and might not be able to trust the leader. Like in a PUG run.

When all of the loot is new, and especially if an item level upgrade, then everything that drops can probably be used by someone in the raid. This is not as commonly the case with personal loot. The one and only benefit of personal loot (and it is a great benefit) is when used in groups who have no regard for the progress of others in their raid - i.e. PuGs. When you have a group where a player will take a 1% upgrade rather than pass it to someone for whom it's a 10% upgrade, that's when personal loot is better.

Organized raid groups will fight personal loot because it doesn't allow them to exploit their players and play favorites with loot, unfortunately. If Blizzard ever wants people to switch over to personal loot, they're going to have to force it.
