Mostly I come to these forums. Occasionally I go brew some coffee, or sit on the toilet and play smartphone games.

I'm pretty good about doing none of these things when I have a deadline though.

Oh, when I'm working from home, I sometimes take an hour off to take a long bath and read a book, or play a game briefly, and I always have Netflix on in the background.

Despite this, I'm far more productive working from home. Netflix is a surprisingly good productivity tool for me.

And there they lay I damn me eyes

All souls bound just contrarywise, yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!

At work right now, on my iPad. Surfing the web, on MMO-C, read some e-books and play some apps from time to time.

    Pretty chill environment.

Facebook, Reddit, and many others are blocked here at my work, so gotta use what still works.

Bartenders in good bars are usually allowed to take straws of the drinks they make in order to make sure they taste right, but it'd take a shit ton of straws to get drunk off it, especially when you're moving around as much as bartenders do.

Browse some news sites usually once I've started some test and can't do much besides wait for the result.

I don't. I like the feeling of actually earning my paycheck as opposed to stealing money from my employer.

I was a bartender for a few years. Until I became a raging alcoholic from drinking with my boss all of the time. Then I realized that i was doing nothing more than contributing to the decline of humanity. Eighteen years sober now. Conscience is clear.

I earn my paycheck and then some. I'm possibly the most productive person on the team. I'm made more productive by being in good spirits while I work, so when the pressure's on, I'm not burnt out because when the pressure was off, I could take it a bit easy. My boss is extremely happy with my performance.

I am on salary, if the job gets done on time (im always done ahead of deadlines), it really doesn't matter.

when i was hourly, absolutely 100% of that time was devoted to work.

Exactly. I give several hundred hours of work to my company outside of work hours per year. They can afford to give me a little "me time" while I'm at the office.

Just curious Reeve, but does the oil industry have positions for emergency management planners?

Our QHSE people do that. You'll want to get your NEBOSH certificate.

Just curious, Emergency management is my major, I figured there would be positions for that in the oil industry. Also looking at FEMA, DHS, and the EPA

Yeah, the positions exist, but they're part of an overall larger position in Quality, Health, Safety, Environment.

Usually browse the web or go to the bathroom and play some clash of clans/text some people back. Might go for a water break here and there. My boss is totally cool with me listening to music though so most of my time is passed by listening to albums and working. Not really slacking off but I know not many people have the privilege of listening to music as they work.

9gag is the armpit of the internet. I stopped browsing it when I saw people with a ton of upvotes defending sexual predators. Also people tend to post a lot of spoilers to movies and TV shows that just came out.

Music (though this usually means I'm doing numbers and makes me more productive)

Well, I generally come in at least 15 minutes late. I use the side door, that way Lumbergh (my boss) can't see me. After that I just sort of space out for about an hour. I just stare at my desk. But it looks like I'm working. I do that for probably another hour after lunch too. I'd say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual work.
