So I'm upgrading computer. I will be ordering this stuff tonight. Anyone have any thoughts or think I am getting something I shouldn't . I play a lot of D3, bf4, gta5, HotS, Starcraft, wow, etc.

    My notes:

    - Motherboard is 60$+ of overkill. Doesnt really have any more features than Z97 boards in the 110$ range.

    - RAM is slightly overpriced - G. Skill and Crucial are both just as good and 20-30$ cheaper for 16GB right now.

    - Is there some reason you need to use a Display Port to HDMI cable and cant just use a native HDMI-HDMI or DP-DP connection?

    - and lastly - if you can be patient for another 5-6 weeks... Skylake is just about here. If you dont need to build this thing right now (say, because you dont have a functional rig) wait for Skylake. Instead of getting in at the end of a dead socket (1150), get in on the ground floor of 1151.

Won't skylake CPU and motherboards and ram for the boards be more expensive since it will be new tech?
I am trying to stay as close to $1000 as possible

Also the display port cord I'm getting cuz as my main monitor I use a 40 inch TV. And as second monitor I have a 32 inch. They don't have display ports in the back just hdmi and that video card only has 1 hdmi port

No, they wont be particularly more expensive. Intel tends to slot the new stuff into the same price b rackets as the outgoing set. They may be a little bit more expensive (5-10%) but will likely be nearly the same. There will be a lot of sales on debut week, too. Micro Center, i know, is planning some good sales.

Its actually older/outgoing tech that gets more expensive, because they stop making it almost immediately (Haswell Refresh is already out of production, Broadwell is only slated to be in production for like.. 10-12 weeks or something absurd like that) and it gets scarce pretty fast.

I might suggest just getting an adapter instead of a dedicated cord. That way you could just have a spare HDMI cable floating around, that is useful if you need it for something else, instead of a cord that is only useful for one thing. Price should be comparable.
