Angry Measles kills first patient in 12 years

    http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/2...tate/29624385/
The woman's death was a preventable, but predictable, consequence of falling vaccination rates, said Peter Hotez, president of the Sabin Vaccine Institute and Texas Children's Hospital Center for Vaccine Development in Houston.

Measles has surged back in recent years as groups of like-minded parents have opted against fully vaccinating their children. Last year, 644 people contracted the virus.
    The ignorance of people...

Children of stupids die, sad but it could be worse.
But soon after Mr Xi secured a third term, Apple released a new version of the feature in China, limiting its scope. Now Chinese users of iPhones and other Apple devices are restricted to a 10-minute window when receiving files from people who are not listed as a contact. After 10 minutes, users can only receive files from contacts.
Apple did not explain why the update was first introduced in China, but over the years, the tech giant has been criticised for appeasing Beijing.

    It is worse.

The lady who died had an auto-immune disease, incapable of vaccination/prevention and was infected by someone else who had measles.

It's exactly the scenario people warn these anti-vaccine fuckwits of.

But if we have the freedom to drive cars, we should have the freedom to put others at risk of deadly disease. And the freedom to drunk drive.

We do need a good plague to get people back on board with the concept of vaccination. I think we've grown too comfortable with our survivability.

Wouldn't help, just look at "Typhoid Marry".
It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion. It is by the beans of Java that thoughts acquire speed, the hands acquire shakes, the shakes become a warning.

It's kind of got a point though lol. People don't fear what they can't see sometimes. Especially illness.

A good small pox outbreak would fix a lot of their attitudes.

I'm okay with not reintroducing that particular horrific disease just to teach a lesson. Measles can work.

The victim had an auto-immune disease that made her unable to be vaccinated. Somebody else's anti-vax stupidity killed this woman. It's exactly the sort of horrible situation that has been warned about time and time again.

    Well shit.
Can only hope this will make convince states/countries to enforce vaccines more strictly, like the recent public school restriction in.. Flordia?

My grandparents had lovely stories about the time before most vaccines.

Kids, even adults who are children when it comes to needles, have zero appreciation to the carefree environment vaccines has brought to us.

A pandemic is probably what it's going to take though, given people's terrible fears about their loss of FREEDUMBS.

As greenhouse gas emissions continue to rise I expect to see more stories like this
