Ugh, the sick and twisted things humans can do

And the sad part is that (in many parts of the world-) it's not any better today...

I dont think rape, rats, hot iron rods and mass executions are part of the Guantanamo Bay programm.

And now you have to realize that Putin is a child of such a regime, as KGB is a direct spawn of this.

The saddest part of these death camps is, that you don't have to search for staff. You don't have to force people to do these jobs. The moment they got power over those people, it's cruelty to animals, not someone equal. I still have hope that, in like 300.000 years, we will have outgrown these traits. 302015 can't come soon enough.

:/ site uses a lot of terms that you are apparently expected to know. ITL, NKVD, 3rd grade interrogation, etc.

it's not to hard to get people to do whatever you want if you make some adjustments to standard military training and military culture. propaganda, removing responsibility and negative reinforcements also do wonders.

That's why the molotov ribbentrop pact was called the midnight of the century.

It makes me angry when the Putinistas garble all over the place and claim motherfucking Stalin liberated europe instead of replacing one genocidal monster with another.

The poor attempts by leftwing people to perfom their ususual "but america" routine in the face of Stalin or Hitler are terrible themself absolute inappropriate and tasteless in this case.

Let's at least not try to use these 'drawings' as an attempt to wash your hands and pretend we or you are better than these things.
Because that is usually the first thing people try to do... "Soviet bad. We saints!"
This is ridiculous, same argument nazis come with when confronted with the genocide..."others did too!"... thats not the subject, subject is to see your own history and make sure it never happens again.

Also comparing a genocide with guatanamo bay....is like ... i cant even find words for it.

100K Poles were declared "enemies of the state" and sent to gulags. This would be from WWII on. And those 100K poles were only one group of the Soviet Eastern Block countries. You'd have Hungarians, Romanians, Bulgarians, etc.

Guantanamo bay is arguably worse, since they typically won't allow you to die.
(in the aspect of methods used, not the scale of the operations)

Anyone interested in Gulags, Concentration Camps should read Bloodlands by Timothy Snyder.
    https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6572270-bloodlands

It goes into the reasons why the Soviet Union, Germany started the camps such as Political,Economic and War and has Testimoney from survivors.

Wow you are one hell of a revisonist on top of advocating for voting Nazi partys like golden dawn and asking people do commit terrorism in southern germany you try to whitewash Stalin.

Are you this ridiculous blinded by your ideology? Genocide in self defense? You deserve an asskick for that.

For example, I never said anything about terrorism in South-Germany and I definitely would not 'ask people' to do such things... so again, take the off-topic rant elsewhere.
This is not off topic asking people to vote golden dawn and Stalin was just misunderstood he had an excuse for genocide do you even read what you write?

You should better apologize and accept that there is no excuse for Stalins behaviours.
Hitler or Stalin both were monster.

Actually both were just human, which makes all of it so scary and should serve as a reminder, that people like that will always exist.

But I do not like to pretend that it was a black and white world of good vs. evil either. I described everything as horrible and unacceptable several times in previous posts, but the threat and terror and political warfare of anti-revolutionaries should not be wiped under the rug either.
We are talking about Stalin here....
it is gray but this guy was on another level.

If you never work on your past history you will not do better tommorrow. And it seems that alot of people in modern russia have forgotten what happend in the stalin period.

Russia says nazis here nazis there..... but they still praise a man who did one of the greatest genocides in modern history..... would be the same when germany would start to put hitler portraits up again.

May be they praise him because under his rule USSR saved itself from Germans from west and Japanese from east? Under his rule occupants from USA and UK were thrown out of the country and people could live in peace after terrible Civil War? Thanks to him you don't live in Fallout-like world because he managed to finish atomic project before US bombed Soviet Russia.

    Hmm what else? UN? Israel?

I've looked at the drawings some more now and some are really disturbing. Really makes me feel sick...

This might even be worse than the German deathcamps? If that's even possible :S
