In the Pre-Patch you are slowly doing the hole questline like in the Launch Test that happend a few Days Ago.
When Legion goes Live you will only do the BS with the Funeral and DH reveal and then Khadgar calls you to Dalaran where he already prep the Teleport to Broken Isle.
So the hole middel Part will be skipped and you can do it later if you want.

Slowly doing WHAT quest line? Broken Shore is a start of this quest line. Beta Launch Simulation Required you to play through BS -> Dalaran(Jaina shits herself) - Ulduar -> Karazhan -> Dalaran (Assault on Dalaran+Allody) and after that, Blizz was flipping a swith for activating Legion content, and Dalaran Repositioning to Broken Isles via portal. All this is a pre-patch progressive events. At Legion night release you gonna get to BI Dalaran and start your artifact quest immediatly. Originally Posted by Merkader

so the reason you don't do ulduar/kara on the beta is because there legion has already launched, and instead of doing that whole chain to get your dalaran hearthstone you just do broken shore, sylvanas/varian shit, and then go to dalaran to watch it be portaled to the broken isles. the ulduar and kara chain is only part of the prepatch, but broken shore is the intro zone forever, just like that tanaan intro thing that existed for wod.
