Question You think Blizzard will introduce a New Class?

Since the announcement got published yesterday, I am now wondering if we will be seeing a new class.
Personally, I rather not have a class at the moment. Nothing is pretty much balanced out and with a new class, it could make it worse. You know, the DeathKnight 2.0 repeat.

    What you guys think?

    I doubt they'll add a new class.

Deathknight was out of control, I believe somewhat intentionally to begin with, monk was OK.

I'd put a lot of money on getting a new class, I think Blizzard will go all out for this expansion to try and recover losses.

I hope so, at least a new Mail wearing class, perhaps a ranger-type similar to the hunter but with something unique.
Because currently, only the Hunter uses Range weapons and there are only 2 mail wearers while there are 3 of the others. This'll balance it out.

Seeing as how the Chinese hints are basically screaming new class at us, yes.

The game has room for one more mail-wearing class, hopefully with both a tank and a healing spec, I think a tank spec is almost mandatory given the situation in queues.
It also has to be ranged, given how overstacked melee is. Both Monk and DK were obviously melee.

I don't think so - there is pretty much only two slots vacant, and neither seem practical.

Ranged tank and melee healing are missing, and neither seem like they would fit into WoW.

Any other class will just be a clone of what we already have with different animations.

if we get demon hunters as hero class, i might swap main from my beloved shadow priest, i've been maining since WotLk, if demon hunters get good speccs and are better than shadows were throughout MoP and WoD.

And seeing as every new class added so far has been melee, I'm expecting a ranged class which likely means no demon hunters. Which is good because they suck as an idea, they just look cool.

A new tank spec isn't going to make people who aren't tanking now, tank.

For the most part, anyway. I'd go back to tanking if there were a Demon Hunter dual-wielding tank. Most people don't tank because they don't want the pressure/want to make big flashy dps numbers.

Honestly? I think so. If I was a betting man, I'd put my money on it.
Players have come to expect either a new race or new class with every expansion. Pandaria obviously split the difference and gave us one of each, and then nothing in Draenor, so honestly I could only assume it would be one or the other.
And right now, I honestly don't feel like we need or even really want a new race/races to play. My money would be on something along the theme of what Kenji87 said. Mail would be most likely armor. I don't know why, but I've always thought that maybe it'd be something that used a crossbow in off hand and a 1h in main hand, but that's just purely speculation. There's not really any strictly hybrid ranged/melee class in the game right now. Anything more is just over speculation, and we can only wait to see.
If there is going to be a new class, they'll probably announce it soon, though. They want that hype train going at full speed so their stocks go up and people get back into WoW again. At the end of the day, Blizzard is a for-profit company, and a new class would bring in profit.

I'd be massively disappointed if they do not add a new class. Sure, things will be unbalanced if they add a new class, but I'm 99.9% sure the game, especially on the PVP side, will balanced even they don't. So sign me up for something new. A 4th spec would be equally as good or an overall of the existing classes. Bottom line is, I want something new and different in WOW cause I certainly didn't find that in WOD and if I don't see it in the next xpac, I'll be looking in other MMO's for it.

I think Blizzard has to resort to the big guns, on this next expansion. They either will present a new class or new races, as a sales pitch. They have to.
We don't know the numbers for the Q2 2015, but I suspect the wow token was not enough to offset the losses.
But to me, if the next expansion does not have at least 1 of those features, it will feel lacklustre.

Granted, WoD won the "worst expansion ever" prize, so any future expansion can easily trump it.

I think it's going to be either a new class or a new race. Personally I don't really care since I only main one class and alts are not much of a interest to me. Would be interesting though if they add a new ranged class that is not a caster.

My fiancee and I have been saying exactly this for years now. Ever since Druid got their 4th spec. That'd be a lot of flavor and variety to the game. Sadly, though, I don't think it's really very feasible. I feel like that's actually even more work than making an entirely new class. At least with a new one you've got reasonable creative freedom, but you'd have to stay within the boundaries for what makes thematic sense for all of the classes. I know I'd have a hard time even getting a general idea of what a 4th spec could be for some classes.

    **EDIT**
I just realized the one tiny bit of good news if they do end up making a new class - 12th character slot, boys!

Hopefully not. We don't need more classes. Instead stop making every other class identical.

I sure hope so! Demon Hunter is the first thing to come to my mind. I honestly can`t think of many classes that were as frequently requested as the Demon Hunters. And Why not? They have a well enstablished (and awesome) lore. The only problem I can think of is the fact that their signature ability, the Metamorphosis was already taken up by the Warlocks.

But hey, in terms of lore we don`t really know how do these metamorphosis really function how dose Warlock's varies from Demon Hunters, if there is any difference at all, and we mostly see Demon Hunters using it. In lore, the first warlock we see uses Metamorphosis was Kanrethad Ebonlocke from the Warlock's Fel fire questline, and his was based on Illidan's knowledge. Demon Hunter's variation. After him, we have several Garrison followers who can use Metamorphosis, though it has an interesting flavor text: "Cast by a warlock pretending to be a demon hunter".

They could as well remove Warlock's metamorphosis altogether? Wasn`t it only added in Wrath of the Lich King? Or they could simply make Demon Hunter's to vary from Warlock's? All in all, I'd love to see demon hunters added into the game!

a new class is pretty much the main part that would add completely new content for me, considering that outside of raiding, the only thing i do nowadays is completing CM golds on all classes.

    Lets see....

    If I remember correctly:

    Vanilla: no new class/race (obviously)
    BC: new races
    WotLK: new class
    Cata: new races
MoP: new race + new class
    WoD: nothing...
X6: most likely new race and/or new class

I would bet my money on a new class at least. We do have quite a lot of races already. However it entirely depends on the next xpack. If it is something south seas like.. maybe we do get a new race as well? Hell, maybe we get to play Murlocs. Who knows?

warlocks have death-coil same as deathknights, metamorphosis would still work for a demon hunter
