Converting a Trial account to a full account through steam?

Is there anyway to make my character on my current trial account joined up to my steam version of the game? When I bought the steam version of the game it made a new account for me using my steam login info that is separate from the trial character I spent quite a few hours working on.

Did you get the trial from Steam or from the SE site? If it's the later than you're out of luck. The Steam version exists as its own separate platform independent of the rest. You got two options right now:

1) Start over with a new character on your Steam account.

2) Refund the Steam version and buy a copy from the SE site to play with your trial character.
