Poll: What's your take on the rng-based sockets/extra stats/warforged items?

    Itemization randmoness. Yay or Nay?

    Seeing the recent dev interview where blizzard said they were happy with how loot worked out in WoD, and were considering adding even more random stats on the loot, I was wondering what the communitie's take on it was. So, do you like the current rng-based sockets/extra stats/warforged loot, or do you prefer the old model? IMO, the previous model was much better, as you just needed the rng to get the good item on the right boss, and it could already take some weeks of farming for it to drop, and even then someone could still get instead of you. With the current system, I just feel like even getting a BiS isn't really satisfying, as you know it could be even better if it had a socket and was warforged; plus, I really dislike characters being too unbalanced with people having 4 or 5 more sockets than someone else, just because the day they looted, the item happened to have a socket.

    Nay, but they don't care and will do random items, because that means people play longer even thought they might not like the randomness.

    No more Diablo-like system where u have to get lucky to get max rolls on your primary/secondaries.

    i think current system is good, however i think there should be more items each slot like 4-5 shoes every raid with different stats, so we dont have the problem like in highmaul where you had only 1-2 items each slot and if they didnt had your secondarys then tough luck

    Title is misleading. I thought this was about the varying stat range.

    Yes, Warforged, Sockets and Tertiaries should remain and be expanded upon.

    I hated reforging in MoP. BUT, I think it would be great to have back now that we don't have to worry about hit/expertise cap.

    Stop the RNG plz, it hurts

    Or at least take sockets out of RNG. Would be fine with just WF + tertiary, or even better only tertiary (throw WF threw the window)

    Hate RNG, they claim its a better system all round, its not, it just makes you grind the content more until you get the item you want.. its kind of sad that they have to resort to such shady systems to get you to do the content over and over.

    They should bring back reforging. However when you get an item you are given an itemization number to work with and list of stats you can adjust and then left to do well or screw up your items, each to their own. The game has lost a lot over the years with Blizzard care bearing players. The biggest mistake being talent trees that are impossible to screw up.

    No, he/she/it dislikes having to roll on items that they already have that will be an upgrade for someone else but MAY be an upgrade for them. Talking about tier tokens that COULD have a tertiary stat or gem socket, but you don't know till you click and bind it to yourself.

    I would totally love reforging to be back. Other than that, yes, I loved the old system of no-WF WAY more.
    No more time wasted in WoW.. still reading this awesome forum, though

    The proc'd gear with extra shit on gear is awful. You can't ever really get to BiS status, and you're never finished getting gear just for a small chance and maybe some power gain. I liked being able to finish up all the gear in a given raid, which is already difficult enough since some things rarely drop (like various trinkets). With the older system you could finish your gear set and have it feel complete. Content longevity came from doing things on alts and different classes, and the experience is better when you can reach a goal and be done.

    If I had to meet halfway, I would say I'm fine with gear occasionally getting speed or avoidance or leech, but sockets and warforging need to go. They offer too much power on random chance and makes distributing loot more convoluted for pretty much no reason.

    This expansion they tried to 'ARPG' the loot system with professions (Crafting has been reminiscent of D3 and the likes) and drops and it fell flat. They either need to implement a full ARPG system or leave it, because what we got this expansion was terrible. There's like what, 10 affixes on crafted gear? and 2 other item variations, warforged and prismatic sockets. That is no good, there needs to be combinations of 100s or 1000s with several different factors of obtaining loot to be actually fun and comprehensive. I much prefer getting what you farm without RNG involved on top of the RNG for it to actually drop in the first place. However, if they were to implement a fully fledged ARPG system I'd love it.

    This has literally never been a problem in any sort of organized raiding environment. Why are you rolling on tier you have that someone else doesn't? And why is the master looter giving it to you?

    Should be removed, sucks with RNG sockets and WF. The bonus stats are okey to have since they dont really matter that much.

    WF just adds to the crazy ilvl increase through WoD and MoP expansions.
