A funny thing with the US I noticed after years of working with Americans and visiting a few times: Most Americans I came into contact through work and in major cities find the situation in the US (forbidden words on TV, boobphobia and sexualizing everything nude) horrible. But in more rural areas this was completely opposite. (And all of Alaska I visited) The people are as polarized as the politics over there. And unfortunately it seems like the most restrictive group gets it's way because politicians are afraid to offend and noone gets offended by not doing anything.
I'm an Alaskan who is definitely against all our insane censorship

The same way it's not illegal to have nude pictures of your own children or nudist colonies but if someone is found with 5000 pictures of them, they're able to prosecute based on the motive for owning the pictures rather than the content of the pictures themselves.

It's not inherently risk free, since it assumes judges will always act fairly, but I've never heard of someone being convicted on isolated instances of naked children.
I'm starting to think people didn't actually read the story.

He was only charged for child porn for the other images. He wasn't charged for the scorpions cover...

It cant possibly be child porn to own the cd.

What the swedish ruling says is that the image itself, lacking any context, does violate their child pornography laws.
