    Monitor recommendations/Dell U2412M

I've had this crappy 21 inch HP monitor for years because believe it or not, whenever I get an expensive monitor they all have the yellow tint problem or some ridiculous back lighting. I've had the Dell U2412M twice and returned it twice because of the yellow tint each order has had.

Does anyone know if that monitor has been fixed and if they're sending those out? If not, some monitor recommendations would be great. I look at the set ups of the month but I'm always put off by the number of bad reviews each monitor has. Is there such a thing as a straight up good monitor that isn't crazily expensive?

    Define yellow tint.

U2412M is outdated and replaced by the U2415 which performs better and is well, updated.

Basically the colours appear warmer. Each U2412M I had everything looked burnt. It just looked really ugly https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=U2...IVBT0UCh2_TAcN

    I'll take a look at the u2415.

Edit: Would you happen to know where I can find a list of all those models?

Either back light bleed or just came warmer out of the box, which isn't that uncommon.

Which models? Dell ones? Dell site should have all of them.
There's not really one gigantic comprehensive list that I know of that spans across many manufacturers.

Dell one us U/P/S/E which denotes the type. Ultrasharp, Professional, S is glossy... I want to say Shiny..., E is the economical ones.
    24 is the size.
15 is the year / generation.
    H is 16:9 lack thereof is 16:10, Q is 3840x2160.
    M is e-IPS.

Thing is though, I've read a decent amount of posts on other forums and people don't seem to be able to sort out the yellow tint by calibrating it and changing settings. They all say something is 'fundamentally wrong' with the monitor.

I can't seem to find a comprehensive list. All I want to know is if the U2415 is the newest.

It's possible. I don't have one on me to play around with so I can't really comment much on it.

Yeah it's the newest one for the 16:10/1920x1200.

    Ones released this generation are.
    U2515H, U2715H, U2415, P2415Q, U3415W, S2415H, and... some others.

All I can advise is to pick something besides Dell. I have never and will never recommend anything by Dell. Overpriced junk built by someone else with a Dell logo slapped on it.

Feel free to recommend, then. :P

I just like the look of them and the adjustable height, but anything would be better than my https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=hp...IVij0UCh17NAW2

If you can, get this. There is a 1920x1200 verson of it too, EV2455. It is by one of the best monitor manufacturers in the industry and for good reason. I have a FG2421 of theirs. I'm personally waiting for them to release their FS2735 later this year.

Go Asus 1440p! I just posted in another thread about monitors. It depends on your budget and video card. I use an ASUS MX27AQ and the color is incredible.

    It's merely okay.
For $500 though it's a rip off. You could get a BenQ GW2765HT or Dell U2515H for $400 and perform better with more options.

^ I don't speak any German, so I can't really comment on that review. I wish one of the big sites (anandtech) would drop a legitimate review, but who knows when we'll see theirs. There's also some aesthetic aspects you can't match elsewhere imo. I got it for $450 I think. It depends on what you want, I absolutely love the Asus ROG series monitors for FPS gaming using nvidia's g sync

That Benq looks nice though, and alot of the korean monitors that all are incredibly cheap, with their PLS screens.
