    Who should pay (work related)

    Wrapping up a job.
Person A gives person B instructions to load and secure something on the truck, while they go deal with another aspect of the job.
Person B does not do it properly causing the item to come off and be lost/destroyed.

Who should have to pay for the lost item
Company, bossman, Person who failed to secure item or should it be split up?

Company pays. It's their responsibility to train their employees properly. However they should discipline or fire person A and B.

    Depends on the contract.

If on the contract, it is stated that people damaging cargo will personally be responsible, then they can make Person B liable.

If not, the company pretty much have to foot in the bill.

Are person A and person B both employed by the same company?

I agree that the company is responsible if they don't put in the proper infrastructure. If the boss didn't teach the employees how to secure the package then it's his fault. If person A just did a bad job then it's his fault, especially if he knew it was a bad job. It's person B's fault only if the job calls for him to load with person A in those circumstances.

    Insurance?
It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion. It is by the beans of Java that thoughts acquire speed, the hands acquire shakes, the shakes become a warning.

Yeah I was gonna say that. Insurance should cover actual costs. My post only talked about faults.

Ladder comes off due to not being tied down Approx $125
Product comes off due to hard stop and not being tied properly, then run over by school bus $400

Honestly who employs the truck driver?

It is ALWAYS the drivers responsibility to make sure his load is secured. Even if someone else secured it.
