Smile Even on holidays, those soldiers did the job and avoided a butchery !

" A young Moroccan armed with a Kalashnikov and a knife opened fire in a high-speed train traveling from Amsterdam to Paris Friday, injuring three people -- including two American Marines who subdued him, according to French media reports. "

Can't imagine what would happened if the guy freely opened fire in the train. Don't have much info yet, but for sure once again one of those muslim terrorists.

Thanks guys, I hope you'll get the Légion d'honneur !

Yah, right guys in the right place. How can a man get on a train carrying all those weapons and ammunition?

There are no security checks on trains. You could carry a nuclear weapon onto a train if you really wanted to.

On-topic: Those guys are heroes if it really did happen as they say.

No security checks as Yilar said ! The only security checks I ever got were in airports. In train stations, you make your way with your suitcase in hand, put it yourself in some luggage area in the wagon, go take your seat. There could be anything in the luggages, weapons or even a bomb.
More than anything, this guy seemed to be " recorded " for his behaviour ... how did he make all his way without being watched and checked ?

I'm surprised there aren't security checks at train stations given the attacks on trains and such in relatively recent memory. Good thing they were prepared for it.

Why do only the 2 marines get credit? There was a college student in there as well. Does he not count or something?

Ofcourse he does, but it's likely that the situation would have been different, if 2 soldiers werent there to jump the guy.

But what kick they we're there and a big thanks to them.

The best part is, none of them were Marines. One was an Air Force airman, one is in the National Guard, and the third guy is a college student.

Dude, my parents are Air Force vets, my cousin is in the Air Force, and my mom served in the National Guard, so I'm actually pretty patriotic at the moment.

Because that is how you fight terrorism. You don't let them terrorise you. Kinda same way you don't pay ransom money.

Haha, I didn't even see the irony. Thanks for pointing that out.
