I crossbow hunt them on my property, mostly because they're a nuisance and eat my planted fruits. Stew'em, there's not a lot of meat but I'd hate for them to go to waste. Also eat turtle, snake and frogs- my significant otter's spirit animal is the armadillo though so we let them go and opossum I'll shoot with the .22 and toss in the backwoods behind my lot- too dirty of animals to eat in my opinion.

I think it's something to do with their weird body temperature (34C or something) that allows them to act as an incubator for a whole host of bacteria/etc that wouldn't otherwise survive in warmer beings.

Known to be carriers of leprosy.
