Sweden : Boys don't want to stop dressing like girls in school

    Source: http://www.thelocal.se/20150824/cros...t-rural-school

A group of swedish teens who decided that the boys should wear dresses and the girls should wear suits for their yearbook photo were outraged when their teacher asked them to get changed.

It turned more serious when their teacher said: 'guys can't wear a dress'.

Then students turned to the media, and this caused a stir in Sweden, making the school's principal Rikard Andersson explaining the situation on SVT - swedish national broadcaster.

It's only for the year book picture, we did far more crazy things in our schools.

Misleading title, they pulled a stunt for the yearly class photo. Not uncommon at all.

Yeah, people do stuff like this all the time.

The only stupid thing here is that people are making it into a LGBT issue when their teacher didn't want them to do the stunt.

Not quite, he allowed it. He just asked them to changed back after they were done with the photo, but students went to the media with it afterwards saying the school is anti-LGBT.

What's weird is that they look like girls, even without women's clothes

Most teenage guys I see look like that, even when I went to school.

Seems like a group of kids going out and purposefully stirring up drama over nothing at all.

Sweden... The country where a school decided that blue and yellow (the color of the flag) was discriminating and racist colors and thus forbidden to use for a halloween costume...

Never take any serious notice of what happens in Sweden... NEVER!!!
    Fact (because I say so): TBC > Cata > Legion > ShaLa > MoP > DF > BfA > WoD = WotLK

My opinion? The pretty lady on the far right looks like Moot.

Which is pretty fitting, all things considered.

Also, nothing to do with LGBT issues.

Attention whores. Their teacher says something out of the blue without real meaning behind it and they have to turn it into something it's not just to get attention. "I can't wear dress?? Teacher oppressing me!! OMG!"

"efforts to question their school's approach to gender equality." Just because one person said one thing... get a grip.

Yeah this is a really misleading titel. I thought that swedish guys were going in dresses in their everyday life, and nobody was going to stop them xD

But yeah, this is really a minor thing and i did alot wierder things in High school

The school have recieved alot of flack because they should not dictate how people choose to dress if they don't have a set school uniform or the like. Even the sk. datainspektionen (The Swedish Data Protection Authority (DPA) gave them a whooping because their reasons for having school photos broke the the personal data act (pul).

So the school pulled the "we want them to dress like they normaly would" for indentification purposes. Which it turns out is illegal without written consent from parent and students before taking them.

B-but a rocket is a symbol of male dominance, it has nothing to do with the fact that it needs to be shaped like that for real reasons like physics! YOU SCUM!
People start to annoy me with this crap.

Either way, you go guys! men have so little choice regarding to clothing its saddening.
A good example is where i shop for clothing, 4 floors, 3 for women, 1 floor for men which is also shared with "baby/toddler clothing".
