Shadow Priest in need of help.

Before i start, i would like to say that my english is not my native language, so my apology, if i do some grammar mistake and etc.

Hello Dear MMO-C community. My name is Tihealy and it's the first post that i'm making on this gigantic website.

The goal of this thread, is because i have some ... well i should say many problem with my shadow priest. My guild leader do think that i could do higher DPS on all the fight and i do agree with him.

There many Up-and-Down on some fight due to mistake that i made, and i know that my position is a key to avoid damage, but that is not my only problem,

Like i mentioned earlier, my guild leader think that i can do more damage, with the gear that i have that is. I could potentially list some problem that i think that i should work or got problem with

-Positioning

-Dotting multi-target(This is one problem that irritate me. I do SW:P every adds that i see, but sadly, the tab button always not switch to a enw target when i try to dot(Example: there is 6 adds, i tab one, SW:P , tab sw tab sw there still 3 adds taht i need to DOT, but the tab that i press target an adds that alrady have SW:P active on, so i need to manually point the cursor on the one that do not have it, and when they are in movement and the nameplates moving... it's quite a bit hard to keep track of the dots(I also need things for this, but that for the next problem)

-Addons!!! : The addons that i i use for raiding ... Pretty much DBM(Deadly Boss Mods), Iskar Assist(for the Iskar encounter), Skada (to tract my dps, but that is not really necesscary to help me), WeakAuras2 (This one is probably the one that did help me to increase my awareness).

That is pretty much it

My interface is pretty much the Blizzard UI, with some exception that i do have some targetting macro( like /target talon priest) so i don't need to read the names on the nameplates to find the talon priest.

What i do know:

- is pretty much on one of the page that is shown on MMO-Champion : www(dot)mmo-champion(dot)com/threads/1739378-6-2-Shadow-PvE-Guide-and-Discussion#stats That is probably the basic knowledge, but i probably know more than that, but maybe by not a lot.

What i think that could help me...

- Addons that make the nameplates bigger and that show the dot timer with the dot on the target above the nameplates.

- Talking to other shadow priest, due because i have some questions regarding the shadow priest class(even thought it's my main since like 3.3.3) there still change that have been made throguht the time and i need like a refresher on some questions.

- Potentially some screenshot of peoples UI? I saw so many different kind of UI, and that pretty much made me say : Wow, those are clean, so much space, all the spell used are stack together in a form of a square. More space than the standard Blizzard UI.



So yeah, that is pretty much a "Call to Arms" .. ir i should say "Call to Priest" to a shadow priest that need help or lot of help.

That is pretty much all i can say, for now. Hopefully there some generous people to sahre some knowledge so my number could go up

For addons, please use http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/shadowed-unit-frames and configure the boss frame so you can only see your dots on the different bosses, this is a must for boss like council. Another very common UI is elvui but the last time i used it was back in ICC, its change the whole UI.

Uninstall IskarAssist. This will force you to increase your general raiding awareness and teach you things. You need to be proactive, not reactive.
