The only redeemable quality about Ele Sham is that it has been dependably shit for a decade now.

Times change, empires rise and fall, galaxies form and collapse, but you can always and will always be able to count on Elemental Shaman sucking just soooo much ass here now and forever.

Asking doesn't mean they want to play FOTM necessarily. People may not want to roll trash tier specs like Elemental or Disc/Holy Priest. If anyone expects to play these in PVP because they were told to play the class they "enjoy", they're in for a rude awakening.

Are you joking ? Elemental has been great for half Mists with a nice couple of comps playable, was viable in Cata and great back in S8.

They have a stance that can only be switched to out of combat that makes prot more like a dps spec.

Viable? Depending on what your expectations are, yes it is viable. It's not optimal but if you are casual it is certainly playable.
