You are saying that black people need to get paid less than white people to have the same jobs?

Man you are way off on this one lol. Next thing you know there will be people calling him an "Uncle Tom" or say "He wants to be white" lol.
Was the only reason you used him as an example because he is black?

You can then shop for groceries at a real store instead of a corner store where everything is double the price. All you need is $1000 to buy a vehicle to drive back and forth to work. The cities have things like public transportation and a lot more jobs than the country. You say they even have a McDonald's 5 miles from your house? I have 3 and a bus stop within a block of each...

I'd laugh if it weren't for the fact that he RickJamesLich actually thinks that's a "source" for his claims.

Here's the ENTIRE problem with a lot of their lines of thinking. They believe that simply reducing the percentage of unemployment is all that matters, but then they give fuck all about the actual conditions of living of those who are employed beyond that.

Any business that cannot afford to pay its employees a living wage, and by a living wage, I mean more than just subsistence, has no business existing in America.
The problem is you got some sort of fantasy solution where the government is going to just start giving black people a lot of money and businesses will say "hey you know what, let's go back to the hood". But yeah an economist that went to Harvard is a bad source, or not as good as your source, which is apparently you.

Anyways, there is always going to be poverty but employment can still help alleviate a lot of the problems in the ghetto. It's not going to be a magical switch where things get better over night but if we don't make changes, the present problems will still exist.

As for businesses *needing* to pay living wages.... why? There are many jobs out there that don't do that already, it's been going on in our country for centuries and considering our place in the world, I think it's worked thus far. So *every* job needs to pay a living wage? What if you need a part time helper at McDonalds because you have a sufficient business need for one extra person, but you already know the need isn't so big that the person needs to be full time? Why should a business at that point be obligated to worry about the worker's welfare outside of the job? How about a place like UPS, where the labor is intensive enough to the point where they don't want to work their employees 40 hours because it can lead to injuries or other medical issues, should places like these just close up shop.... because you said so?

In particular with a place like McDonald's though, it's pretty common knowledge that you work there as a high school student or during college.... you don't work at McDonald's as an ordinary job once you are an adult though because the pay is low, that is what's comedical about the video.

Nah, the guy is well spoken, qualified to speak on the topic, and makes very good points.

Nothing new to see here a culture of people who make stupid choices and breed more welfare recipients. The chain is never broken. Was this supposed to be something new and different?

The average fast food worker is 29.2 years old. You can say it's a job for a younger person, but that doesn't make it so. It might be "common knowledge", but it's incorrect "common knowledge".

Blacks dont qualify for the same minimum wage everyone else gets?

    This isnt rocket science.
You can also buy a fresh boneless chicken breast for about 2 bucks and a 5 pound bag of flour for 3 bucks and make hundreds of waffles with it

Yeah there's lots of older (bored house wives, retired people, or people that are managers) do work at McDonald's too - nobody in their right mind thinks it's a "good career choice" to stay there though when you are an adult and have responsibilities and aren't the manager. If you're married and your spouse has a good paying job, it's acceptable though. And yes, it's been common knowledge because it's been the butt of a joke for decades... "being a fry cook at McDonalds". Are we really going to treat a McDonald's job with the same type of scrutiny that a place like Google or Microsoft would have? The type of job has always been known to be a joke.

The argument doesn't work when you just pick out the one thing that is of equal value. There are plenty of choices for $2.25 besides an avacado.
Not to mention a single avocado is $2.25 because its an exotic imported food that isnt native to 99% of the US

The best part about the whole thing is that the flood of Mexicans under your idol President Obama is going to make black people's situation even worse by making the job market that much tougher.

Around here its mostly the stackers who work in fast food. The stackers are immigrants who have like 5 families living in one single family home.

Minimum wage jobs were meant to be a living wage, as per Roosevelt, the man who implemented the minimum wage. They're not "just for teenagers" or college kids. What are you, bad at history now?

Nothing wrong with stackers, although I'd never heard the term. There is something to be said for families who share a residence and share child care so multiple ppl can work. Sounds kinda smart to me.

Ah take up farming, can one grow the equivalent of a pound of rice and beans continuously for 18 years?

It puts more wear and tear on the infrastructure of the neighborhood because the homes are designed for single family use, not a whole village in one house. Wear and tear on community services also, schools, hospitals.
