What personal spending could you cut easily?

Hey guys, was having a discussion with some friends earlier about the possibility of losing our jobs and having less money to spend because of it.
Naturally this discussion lead to the question ''what would you cut from your regular spending pattern to reduce your spending''.

For me, this would be train station food: pretty much every time I have to wait at a train station I will buy something like a sandwich and even though they usually only cost ~3 euros each (extra if I also buy a drink etc), it quickly adds up because I travel a lot for work.

What would you be able to cut easily from your personal spending?

Tobacco and alcohol. Both obscenely expensive here due to taxation, so cutting those luxuries would cut a major expense.

Usually both are very addicting and hard to cut from your diet, though ofcourse it depends on how reliant you are on it/how much of it you currently use

    You are eating tobacco?

Depends on how you define "easily". I buy high-quality food (best meat, best orange juice, best cereals...) so I suppose I'd downgrade it a bit (orange juice first, I can drink water but meat is sacred) if I was suddenly poor. That wouldn't be "easy" though.

Hookers and blow.......but I'd hate to give up the hookers.
Me thinks Chromie has a whole lot of splaining to do!

Honestly I would not be able to cut anything. I am a student living on a student loan so I am living on a bare minimum amount of spending.

You would be surprised how many people who really can't afford it spend significant amounts of money on things they are addicted to (not only drugs but alcohol/smokes are quite expensive as well)

I'm sure they are, but honestly they're both very conscious decisions. Tobacco because the sensation is nice, and it works as a good replacement for snacks. Alcohol because it's very social and very fun.

Only reason I'd stop either would be financial, if I couldn't afford it.

Magic: The Gathering's Cards. I buy, but I only play less than 10 matches with each deck I buy.
An MMORPG's subscription. There are lots of other games out there, games that I can complete without the constant need of other players.
Pizza: Too expensive IMO (at least where I live, I can get a lunch for 8 Reais, but a Pizza can cost between 40 and 60 Reais).

Food I don't need but want. The internet/phone line. I'm stuck with my mobile phone for a while, though I could cut that when the contract ends. Give my pet snake to my sister, save on the heating of the viv and the food and stuff too.

I live a rather cheap life. I've enough offline media to consume. Lots of books to read too, the more I read, the less electricity I use

Video games. This would also release time to do stuff for money.
Redundant internet plan. I have Cable for the tv+gaming and for other people in my house, but my mobile plan comes with a very good 4g connection. I would drop the cable immediately.
Eating out. The cost of a sandwich is like 1/5 of the price you pay. Another 1/5 is the businessman's margin. The remainder is the rent of the business's store and you pay for it.
Gas. If it was possible, I would ride a bike instead of using a car. Public transportation here is expensive and uncomfortable.

Wow, I would think a lot of people would consider internet to be a neccesity, especially with how much government/study/job stuff currently requires you to have it

My mobile phone contract gives me some data, as well as there being plenty of free wifi around. I'm also using high end (for whats available) fibre optic, so if needed, I could downgrade it to still save a chunk of money.

Yea I guess but having to go to a public space every time you want to do something on the internet can be quite a hasstle, also I wouldn't really feel safe doing things like banking on public wifis

Snacks I guess, I don't eat much of those anyway.

I used to spend a lot on beer and fast food, video games, etc. Stopped drinking beer and I cook most everything I eat. I still play video games but even there I play the free video games.

For some reason I'm becoming more and more frugal aka miserly.

    Beer and restaurant food, easily.

Pancheros' buritos, especially with extra steak and Queso are amazing. But not worth the 10 dollas.
